[Please put spoiler warnings for spoilery comments] Here's my next Hollow Knight needle-felted project, Hornet Silksong! She turned out... well, not as good as the rest, in my opinon. The problem is that these keep getting bigger. Lace was slightly bigger than Trobbio, and now Hornet is a lot bigger, to the point where she's close to twice the size she should be in comparison to Trobbio. Also, she looks a little weird, her cloak is thicker than it should be, and the needle is heavy and hard to pose with (although it is technically proportional). I did most of this on Jan. 29, but the needle took a bit longer and then I procrastinated a long time on actually posting this. 1. Thumbnail (I added some special effects) 2. stik figure + U-head = hornet. I finally got some photos of the plain pipe cleaners (there's a white pipe cleaner inside the head as well) 3. eyes. look at that goofy expression O.O 4. Since I was running low on red after Trobbio, I made the cloak out of stuffing/base wool, and added red on top. 5. Since the cloak wouldn't stay ruffled on its own, I felted it into that shape. You can also see the red petal in the background that I was going to felt on (I did the red in pieces) 5. Assembled Hornet. She looks pretty nice in this picture. 6. The needle was mostly made by my sister, @Silvertaill. She made the wire base (wrapping thinner wire around it to help the clay stick), and added tape on both sides to form the shape of the blade. Then, using apoxie clay, she formed the rough shape of the blade. 7. Finished needle! I helped with the sanding down into the final shape, and she did the silver paint on top 8. Yee-shaw! Silver sent me this picture of Hornet on her model horse (finished project here: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1239908914/ ). Also our dog in the background. 9. I wasn't really able to capture this in the camera, but I was trying to match her pose to one recent drawing I did of Hornet (I made a shrinky dink keychain out of that drawing btw). 10. "Standing up" plus an image of the body underneath. Silver suggested adding some black wool to the pipe cleaners to keep the hips in place, and it works really well. 11. Needle out and ready to fight! (she's sitting with her legs dangling off the edge) 12. Standing majestically (the effect is kind of ruined by the shadow imo) Credits: Hollow Knight and Hornet made by Team Cherry Music is Daughter of Hallownest from Hollow Knight by Christopher Larkin (since I already put Hornet and Red Maiden in other projects already) Needle-felted by me Needle was made by me and Needle-felted Trobbio: Needle-felted Lace: I have another HK character I've finished already (that I made back in January as well, right after Hornet) that I'm probably going to post soon. You may be able to see in the bg of one of the pictures in my previous needle-felting project. Also no I am not posting a picture of her next to Lace (or Trobbio). It looks weird.
