Ident & Production logo for Alvernian Islands Television from 1976-1988. Variants: 3 in color: ident, english production, italian production 3 in b&w. Despite the small population living in the offshore islands of the mainland, calls from locals wanting locally-made programs warranted a franchising contract, which was subsequently won by small group of late teens, who had just finished with their Electrical Engineering degrees, and setup a company under the name Giuliano Brothers Electric Company. With the only knowledge of running a TV station resting upon an ex-Broadcast Engineer, Islands Television was launched on 4th September 1976. After a notably rocky first day of transmission, Islands TV established their ground in the local community as a semi-reliable source of local English and Italian entertainment, broadcasting daily for 3 hours, even delivering news programmes as the company slowly grew. The station, as it stood, would only last until 1988, when the company was absorbed under the APBT umbrella due to lack of funds for development.
