Take this, coming from someone who isn't even a teen. I'm almost 13. Some people compare it to basically flashing your ID to confirm you're 21 to get a certain thing. You can copy things if it's digital, and tech companies are some of the most egregious liars I've seen. Pretty much guaranteed that they will keep it and sell that info. There's no such thing as complete safety and complete privacy if you hand over an ID to open audacity. Age Verification doesn't mean a "By checking this box to confirm you're over 18" that you see in install wizards. It means "Hand over your ID or a selfie to do this and that". Would you hand over an ID to open a web browser? Protect the children by treating everyone like they're a criminal, that's the way! 100%! No problems there! Mhm! It isn't a matter of if it gets hacked it's a matter of when, everything will get hacked at some point, there will always be vulnerabilities in code that can be exploited, you cannot have an unbreakable application with 0 bugs, vulnerabilities or crashes. There's also AI cameras that have had several cases of it misidentifying license plates or people's faces, an innocent elderly woman got flagged as the main suspect for an organized bank fraud case and put in jail for 6 months. She lost everything yet the chief just gets to walk away without at least a slap on the wrist, that is the most messed up shenanigans to say the least. Playstation is gonna roll out age verification to all users in Ireland and United Kingdom, they also have basically added DRM to games on their consoles recently, preventing you from playing them if you're offline for more than 30 days.
