She hummed, snipping the flowers of the elderly woman’s cottage. She was nice enough to give Nene a roof above her head, food and water, along with a room for herself. “Hmm, it seems like the Wolfsbane hasn’t fully grown yet, what a shame.” she sighed, glancing over the beautiful flowers. It was a shame the Wolfsbane hadn’t fully grown, they always bloomed so wonderfully! Perhaps she hadn’t watered them enough? But she was sure that she watered them almost every other day!.. Maybe it was just her? SNATCH Eh? She felt something grab at her ankle.. So, she slowly looked down- “AH- A HUMAN HAND-” she yelped as said hand started dragging her away by the leg, Was this.. PERHAPS A CURSE?! She didn’t know how to handle curses! She was surprised herself she even MANAGED to become a Sorcerer! Quick- she had to do something or- “Oh? It’s not a curse.” a random voice dropped by. Huh? The hand around her ankle left, she scrambled to get up. Becoming face to face with honey-like eyes. “Ahh, it’s just another Sorcerer. Nice to meet you.” the stranger- a boy, gave her a hand lifting her up. “Um.. thanks, anyway.. WHY’D YOU DRAG ME!” She glared at the fellow Sorcerer. “You looked like a daikon curse.” . . . She headbutted him. “OW-” “YOU CaN’T JUST SAY THAT ABOUT A WOMAN!” And that was how they met. An odd one, but she wouldn’t complain, he happened to turn out to be a lovely companion! —————————— (random timeskip because those exist) Walking down the streets of Tokyo was more peaceful with her friends, it also surprised her how Amane(the boy from the beginning) hadn’t made any remarks yet. “Are you sure your feeling alright, Amane?” she tilted her head at him. He nodded, “Yes, I’m doing fine, you don’t need to check up on me every other minute you know.” She flushed, “I know but still, we don’t know how much Sanity you have left!” (The blood wouldn’t stop- he HAD to stop it-) “Thanks for worrying about me Daikon” she let a little hey, “But you shouldn’t be worrying about me. Worry about yourself, it’s winter and you’re weak.” She grumbled, it was true she happened to be weaker within the winter but was it wrong to worry about her friend? “You know what.” She perked up at the sound of his voice. “We’re doing a vacation. You’re always so worried and I.. don’t like it.” he stumbled out the last words. A, vacation? I mean, she wasn’t complaining but with Curses out in the world- “I already know what you’re thinking, Yashiro, there are other Sorcerers the world will be fine,” he gave her a gentle nudge of the shoulder “besides, wouldn’t you enjoy a break around now?” “Yes, but-” she was interrupted by him. “Alright! I won’t disappoint you, Yashiro!” ..what had she just gotten herself into? —————————— Her humming was calming for him, she always had a nice melody that would ring through her head that would embarrass her if anyone complimented it. It was cute, she- well, she was cute as well. “So.. how has my dear daughter been?” ah right The two(well he) decided that a good vacation place would be where they first met. It had been rather awkward for the two, as the old lady almost attacked him but in the end they had gotten on, well, not good terms but not horrible terms. “She’s been fine, quite decent alright.” He responded back, “Have you encountered any strong curses yet?” It still shocked him that this lady, used to be a Sorcerer. Most don’t even live into their 40s. “No ma’am, we haven’t encountered any yet. I’ve made sure that we try not to due to the season.” “Very good.” the old lady hums. (She was gone.gone.gonegonegoneGONEGONEGONE-) “You know,” he turns to look to the old lady’s direction at her speaking “despite her not being the strongest, I am still impressed with her power.” He hummed. “Alright you two, I’m done!” Nene’s chipper voice entered his ears. “Well done sweetheart, I’m very proud of you.” The old lady patted Nene’s cheek. . . Sometimes, he missed his old life, full of joy, no agony, nothing bad yet to happen. However, He looked back over to Nene. He wouldn’t trade this for anything.
—————————— (another random timeskip because I am lazy) “We’ll try visiting later mama, thank you for letting us stay!” He watched Nene bow down. “You’re always welcome to come back.” And, they were off again. They were quite unfortunate that it happened to be cold, along with it being dark. He could barely see the moon being covered by the trees. Also unfortunately for them, a curse just happened to spot. However, unfortunately for the curse, he had seen them as well. —————————— (I have no idea how to write fight scenes so deal with it) CRUSH. The blood of the curse splat upon him, he didn’t feel any remorse, not one single bit. It deserved what happened to it, and honestly? He wished he could do that over, and over, and over again. Right, where was Nene? “Yashiroo?” He sung out. Searching for the poor female sorcerer, he had forgotten about her during the fight. “Yashiro, I’m not going to hurt you.” well that probably wasn’t convincing considering what he just did. He sighed, taking a deep breath and closing his eyes, he still had pent-up negative emotions so he could use his curse.. Now where was she? Aha. “I found youu.” He sung out once more, his curse dragging Nene over to him. She seemed, horrified? No, petrified was more correct. She was curled into herself, the sound of her sobbing overwhelming his ears. His curse let go of her, he crouched down to match her height, “Hey Nene, look I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to make you scared, okay?” The sound of her sobbing toned down, “I’m sorry” she hiccuped. “I’m sorry, I just- I got scared so-” he hugged her, wrapping his arms around her. He rested his cheek on the top of her head. “I’m sorry as well, I didn’t mean for you to get scared okay?” He rubbed her back. Her response was with a hum, he smiled. They stuck to each other, the silence was comforting between them, he really did wish it could last forever but, he had to let go. “Alright Yashiro, let’s get you up.” He unwrapped his arms around her, standing up and offering her a hand. She accepted the offer. They sort of just, stood there.. Before Nene took the first step and hugged him. “Thank you Amane..” he didn’t know what to do with his arms, so he just wrapped them around her again. “Of course-” Nene seemed to fall on him, What? He looked down, almost gagging. Her delicate, body. Dead. No, no, nonononononononononoNONONONONONO- He- he couldn’t let her die, not after all she’s done for him, he wouldn’t allow it, not the only person who truly saw him, not the only person who he truly CARED ABOUT.. Life, was harsh.. and he happened to watch it do it’s magic.
