Today, one of the members of the Junta made a speech in Cairo. Avalez Ramahn stood out above the crowd. The words he would say today would change a nation forever. These words could forge the path to a grand future and a golden age. These same words could run a nation aground and into total ruin. His throat ran dry in the parched Egyptian air, causing him to clear it several times before he began. Spectators watched with expectation and hope. "Just three hours ago, I was informed of a most insidious plot. As we speak, our enemies cower in the shadows, preparing for our destruction. They lurk, waiting for us to lower our guard. That, my fellow Egyptians, is when they strike. They shall plunge their treacherous knives in our backs, they shall tear down all which we have worked so hard to build. Blood, tears, and sweat built this nation and by God it will keep us standing! We will not run away, we will not submit, we will keep a free Egypt, a sovereign Egypt, no matter the cost!" A great cry arose from the crowd. Hands flew, flags waved, and voices toiled. As the humdrum settled, Avalez continued his speech. "Our enemies run rampant, like a river gone rogue! They plan to overrun us, and demolish us under sheer weight! We must make a dam to stop this ferocious expansionism! Our plans for improving the lives of the citizenry are halted, but alas, we have no choice. The faster the threat is quenched, the faster we may resume our noble cause. As strong as Egypt may be, however, we cannot do this alone. We must seek allies, reliable partners, and friends. Together, we can all secure a free, safe future! Japan struck us with colonial vigor, Westafrika struck with greed, and only now do we have our rightful lands back, how could we give it up after all we sacrificed? We may yet hope for peaceful resolution, but if such measures are to fail, we must be prepared to fight for our lives and our nation." And with that, the crowd transformed into an uncontrollable chorus of unity. Avalez returned to within the doors of the capitol, heart pounding. Following this speech, Egypt has begun rapidly militarizing, and has also sprung modernization within its ranks. A formal Egyptian navy had been established, which at the moment only consists of a small number of destroyers and frigates, as well as many patrol ships and minelayers. Thousands of drones are in construction, and the military is accepting homemade drones as well. The air force is also seeing expansion, with new jets being built. Egyptian manufacturing is assembling the vehicles, but the parts are largely imported or custom built by third party sources. Egypt's border with the Red Sea has seen massive fortifications, as well as Egypt itself. On the coast, AA defenses, barracks, tank traps, (Secret) underground fortresses, and large amounts of hesco barriers lining city entrances stand as a barrier to hostile ground incursions. In the water, mines are kept far below the surface, but can be released if need be. Egypt is also slowly developing an arsenal of hyper-sonic missiles for anti-ship purposes. Following Al'id, Egypt has worked on not only safer nuclear reactors, but developing nuclear capability, and has constructed one (small) nuclear missile.
