(“Lunar! Stop throwing the alévri at me!” “What, I would never, Papa!”) ~~~ Lunar and Kai walked to Artemis Cabin, where the Hunters were leaving from. They were silent, each thinking about matters. Lunar’s mind was drifting to the Hunters. She loved being around them, but their company wasn’t the same as what she felt around Kai, or the few times she had been with Lily. Lunar knew that she wanted to be at camp, it just felt right to her. She had a…feeling. That something big was going to happen soon. Whether big to everyone, or just Lunar. By the time Lunar had managed to push those thoughts away, they were at her cabin. The Hunters and Artemis were standing outside. The Hunters were being directed by Thalia, and Artemis was talking to Chiron. Lunar walked towards them, and the Hunters noticed her immediately, and went to give her a group hug. She laughed at how they squished her into the center of the hug, and at the small distance Thalia and Reyna kept. After they released her, Reyna walked over to her. “Stay safe, ok?” Lunar hugged her and agreed. Thalia walked over and hugged her as well, but murmured something different. “Percy’s going to teach you how to use an Iris-Message. Send me any boy-news, yeah?” Lunar laughed again and Thalia joined her. After Lunar finished her farewells to the Hunters, she went to say goodbye to her mother. Artemis smiled as Lunar walked up. “Be safe, Lunar darling.” She said, her smile turning slightly sad. “I will, Mother. You too.” They hugged in a more emotional way than it was with the Hunters. “Don’t disappear again.” Artemis said sternly, at which Lunar laughed. They both knew Lunar had no control over that. Lunar nodded, then stepped out of the way. They all finished their goodbyes and headed off. Lunar sat staring at where they had disappeared into the woods. She knew she would miss them, but she would be ok. After what felt like only a moment, Kai stepped up beside her. “Hey. You ok?” He asked, looking worriedly at Lunar. She nodded, and smiled solemnly at him. “Yeah. I’ll just miss them, is all.” He nodded understandingly. “Want to hang out for a while? Get your mind off of it?” He asked. She nodded again, but then remembered something. “I actually have to go do my chore. I have to restring the bows at the archery range.” She gave him an apologetic smile. “Want some help?” He asked, smirking. “Sure. I bet I can string faster than you.” She said challengingly. “I bet you can.” He replied mischievously. She looked confused. He had just agreed with her, and she hadn’t expected that. “Wait, don’t you mean “I bet I can string faster”? He shook his head, smiling. She gave him an exasperated expression, before running in the direction of the archery range. “Race you!” He chased after her yelling about how he was going to beat her. -*Flashback*- “Lunar! I bet you can’t throw that apple into that bowl on top of Kyría Kígiakli’s house!” Yelled a boy from the paidikí chará. Lunar couldn't believe he was asking that, he knew how good her aim was. “Óchi! I’m restringing her husband’s bow right now.” He huffed, he hadn’ t expected her to turn down his challenge. “Scared?” She shook her head and started to tune him and his friends out,who were mimicking his question. *If only they knew how well I can throw things. I hit Papa in the head with a tiganíta the other day.* She thought, shaking her head. She continued restringing the bow, trying her hardest to do a good job. Her papa had promised that if she learned the string a bow her very best, he would teach her archery. She had always wanted to learn, the sport called to her. It was as if her progónous called her. Her papa had told her that her mother had been incredible at archery, so it called even more. She knew he would teach her eventually, but he always told her, “Soon”.
