Instructions

Age 4. Matt sits in his room, quiet as can be. He looks around, also bored. Oh well. Maybe one day his parents will see him as normal and he can play with the regular children. Age 8 Matt sits excitedly in the living room. He heard he would be getting a new sister! He just needed to wait for his parents to get home. Eventually though they did, but he was sent back to his room. He might hurt his sister. He sighed sadly. Oh well. Tomorrow is another day. Age 12 He was getting pushed around by his fellow students. He didn’t like it, but he would tolerate it. “Look at this nerd! Hey Matt, can you help me? My water got stuck!” One kid teased as he pushed Matt to the ground. He didn’t mind. Surely they’ll out grow him. After all life was hard anyway. Everyone goes through this once. Right? Eventually he makes it home, and Elia was playing in the living room. He looks around. Something felt off. Where are his parents? “Hey Elia? Do you want to come play hide and seek with me?” “Yes!” “Ok, mommy and daddy will come find us. Let’s hide in the closet.” And so he pulls her into the living room closet. “Be as quiet as a mouse, Elia… Quiet as a mouse…” Eventually the house door creaks open. A guy with a knife walks right past. Matt and Elia sits for what seems like hours. Eventually he stands. “Ok Elia, no matter what, you follow me, ok?” Elia nod and Matt picks her up and carries her outside, covering her eyes. She couldn’t see what happened. That secret will remain with him. Once outside, he sits down “We’re going into the forest now, ok?” Elia nods “Ok, bubby!” He holds her hand to the forest and eventually find a small cave “We will be camping here for the time being, ok?” Elia nods. This life sucks. Age 18 Years passed. They lived in a cave. Matt forages around for food, hunting prey with his dagger. He eventually finds a revolver. He pockets it. Eventually he returns to the cave. This continues this day after day, practicing moving water with his magic. His sanity crumbling. Slowly, but it is. Age 22 Matt joined something to oppose the new king. He didn’t know much, but he joined anyway. Though, he still lives in the forest. He wanders around, deeper into the forest, trying to clear his head. Then he hears something in the trees. He looks up and, to his surprise, he finds another human. Mira, she said her name was. Age 22, months later. He didn’t remember much. But he saw white then, he floated in a church with a wedding ruins in the background. He looks over and sees someone rhrough his body to the side. Wait, that means… He’s… dead… he… couldn’t believe it. What would he do now? With his… Friend? With his sister? And so, in a rare display of emotions, he began to cry.
