Plumkit - AFAB - Older Middle (Research for Cone-Rod Dystrophy) greetings. i will be applying for plumkit. this is a rather low effort application, my apologies. we've been experiencing some amount of burnout lately. my activity level is about a 5 or six out of ten. i sometimes struggle to be on due to having to share time with my headmates (@quinnt3ss3ntial and @buttergirl_- ) who are also in gens. between the three of us, i'm more active than butter but less active than essie. i want plumkit because I rather like her design. she immediately popped out to me. i do see that her markings are rather blue, so i imagine she may have to become a bit more grey, however i still like her design regardless. i also just lost falconpaw due to the wolves, so i was looking for a new kit. personality: polite, sociable, friendly, sassy, untrustworthy, petty, cowardly plumkit will be demisexual + romantic, as well as polyamorous. she'll also become a demigirl later in her life, using the pronouns she/they at first, but later extending into she/they/ultra/gem cone-rod dystrophy C-R D is a condition where the cones and rods of the eyes slowly break down, causing several eye conditions and eventual full blindness. generally, it starts with the cones breaking down, which effects one's ability to see color + the sharpness of their vision to decrease. this would make one's vision blurrier and their colors begin to look the same. then the rods will start to break down, which will affect night vision and peripheral vision. this would make seeing in both light and dark environments much harder, along with making it so that one can no longer see through the corner of their eyes. other symptoms include photophobia and weakening of one's central vision field. how plumkit will be affected as a child, plumkit's eyes will work just fine. as she grows older, likely around 8-10 moons, she will begin to experience signs of cone-rod dystrophy. mainly, her vision will begin to blur, and she will experience abnormal sensitivity to light. this will affect her by making it difficult to see things farther away, causing her to squint a lot, along with the light hurting her eyes, making her have headaches semi-frequently and causing her to avoid coming out on brighter days. as more time passes (16-20 moons), these two symptoms will grow worse, with her also beginning to become color blind, have blind spots in her vision, and the loss of her peripheral vision. this will make her ability to see both far away and up close blurry, her colors will all start to look the same, and she will no longer be able to see things unless they are directly in front of her and not in a blind spot. finally, around 30-40 moons old, she will completely lose her vision, becoming completely blind. she will then have to rely on her other senses and clanmates to assist her, along with potential disability aids that may be made for her (i was thinking of her using a stick as a sort of walking stick and having a companion become a sort of seeing-eye companion). code i really like plumkit's markings, they remind me of apples. i honestly thought her name was going to be blueberrykit until i read the description and saw her name. extra + questions none that i can think of. i have rather big plans for her, including a planned relationship with a few other cats who are similar in age to her, with fun dynamics to be discovered. credits art is drawn by me lovely design created by roleplay is by research and writing done by me
