DeepClan. A clan of the dark. From the original RP call/welcome project: "A ravine stretches across a section of this island, with tall, muscle-y cats with large eyes and jagged claws. The ravine is dark and haunted with more than just beasts... This clan has lost all connection with StarClan, becoming bitter and cold, naming their young after monsters of myth, or gods of old." They've been a questionable clan in the past, known for their sacrafices and curses. Hydrastar, the first leader, was soft-hearted but held to the traditions carved by the gods. Gods, not StarClan. They've lost all connection to the stars, instead worshiping cats they call gods. Cats of DeepClan claim that StarClan's curse, of the Star Wolf, is an embodyment of the god of de-th, Fallenremedy. They have a god of the dark and light, Ghostreverie. And a god of leadership and healing, Sunshadow. ` Clan Territory ` In a deep ravine gourging across otherwise flat land, bulky cats lurk below in a heavy tunnel system, with strange old two-leg invention that the cats call flame-holders (they're just old lanterns). There's not much to be said about the windin cavern and caves except for what hides in its shadows. There's the Cliff Path, a winding and craggy outcropping that leads down to the shadowed high-celinged cave that serves as their camp. ` Clan Builds ` Darkness-dwelling cats have rough, heavy builds with thick fur and tall, sharp builds. Their claws are long and hooked, with small ears due to the harsh echoes that reverberate through the tunnels. Often dark or muted colors with peircing blue, green, or amber eyes. ` Clan Beliefs ` A Clan without the stars. Their gods are real. Some say they're StarClan cats that have rejected the light, but most say that they're earth-bound Epiphanies, come to guide the clan of the future. Deputies play a vital role here, as the only cat to be able to see the gods, besides those that are visited by the claws of de-th. Even though they stay away from the stars, most of them d-e and become Redeemed or Epiphanies. ` Clan Behaviors ` Often solitary and distrustful, these shadow-cats don't actually name their young. Instead they have a pet name, and their true names are given when they become apprentices. You may suggest your cat's name, but note that it's not 100% always going to be your suggestion. It *will not* be their pet name. Instead, as a kit, they are known as their parent's "softpaws" and if they do not have a parent (as in they are loner, adopted, donated, etc. if their parent is de-d it doesn't count) they are known as Fate's softpaws. E.g, if Phantomstar were to have kits (must be bio for this to work) they would be called Phantom's softpaws until they are given names at apprenticeship. Weak cats (5 pre-points or lower) are given "weak" names, like the names of prey or small mammals/birds. "Weak" cats are rolled to fight a curse every moon. This means that if you have little pre-points, there's a high chance you cat will d-e. The first moon you cannot roll a de-th. These guys are complex ToT. If you are able to gain 15 points (combine) then you are relieved of fighting the curse anymore. ` Special Rules ` Ranks: Deputies are very revered in this clan for being able to see the gods. Apprentices are split into two groups, two kinds of apprentices: wilted paws and blood paws. Wilted paws learn stealth more, and blood paws learn fighting more. Joining: It's said to be practically impossible to join this clan, but really it depends on the leader. Most of the time, it's a fight against the curse. Other times, it's a simple trial. But it is required to pass some sort of test to join. Special Skill: Night vision. This is just the name for it, but it's really just navigation in the dark, and learning to trace your steps in the winding tunnels. To earn it, you can do a cave walk without light, hunt during the night *without* leaving the caves, find glowworms with two or more cats, or guard the curse for a night. ` DeepClan under Phantomstar ` Phantomstar is a harsh ruler, almost a monarch to the outside world, but really, he has a soft heart. To join under them, all you must do is make ammends with your past clan for leaving, and have a talk with him. You will be asked if you want to change your name. Some leaders have forced this. He never does. Phantomstar does keep to themself often though, so not many really know what he's like. But DeepClan cats have said to greatly enjoy their company.
