Echoes of the Past-Ranks ~Puppies~ -Puppies are the youngest in the packs, from ages 0-9 moon cycles. They are not allowed outside of camp unless of an emergency. They are not allowed in any den accept the nursery unless they have permission from a wolf who lives in that den. Although you can ask permission out of character, it would build more lore if you asked inrp because you would be having more character interactions. Puppies often take naps, play games, listen to elder's stories, and pester older cats. Puppies that are 0-1 moon cycles are not allowed out of the nursery, and puppies 2-3 moon cycles can be out of the Nursery with an adolescence or adult as long as they stay in camp. ~Apprentices~ -Apprentices are adolescent wolves, 10-17 moon cycles here are 3 types of apprentices, Nursery Apprentices, Hunter Apprentices, and Guard Apprentices. All apprentices graduate at 18 moon cycles. Once a Nursery Apprentice that has not become a Medicine Learner turns 13 moon cycles, they can choose if they want to be a Hunter Apprentice or a Guard Apprentice. -Nursery apprentices are 10-12 moon cycles. They still sleep in the Nursery, but have a separate nest than their care-taker and litter mates. They are allowed outside of camp during the day, but must be with a warrior at all times out in their territory. They learn how to hunt and fight, but cannot go on hunting patrols, border patrols, or battles. They also have the same rule about being in other dens as puppies do. If they get a vision from the Spirits at this time, they automatically become a Medicine Learner once old enough. Nursery Apprentices do not have mentors. - Hunter Apprentices are from ages 13-18. They are allowed out of camp during morning, sun-high, and evening, but cannot be outside of camp during night unless they are with a Hunter or Guard. They learn as much as they can about hunting, and will go on hunting patrols, training patrols, and safer border patrols. They can fight in battle as long as their mentor is with them. They can be mentored by Hunters. -Guard Apprentices are the same age range as Hunter Apprentices and have the same rules about leaving camp as them. They learn as much as they can about fighting and guarding. They will go on training patrols, border patrols, and can go on hunting patrols if the pack's prey is under what it needs to be. They can be mentored by mentored by Guards. ~Hunters~ -Hunters main job is hunting for the pack. They are ages 19-64 moon cycles. They will go on hunting patrols, training patrols, and border patrols. They won't go to battles unless necessary. They can be by themselves at any time of day/night in or out of camp. If they are going to another pack’s territory OR they are going on a border patrol, they must be with a guard. Once they reach 20 moons cycles, they can be chosen to mentor a Hunter Apprentice. ~Guards~ -These wolves jobs are to fight, guard, and even hunt for the pack if the prey is too low. They are the same age range as Hunters. These wolves make up most of the wolves of a battle, and are the strongest of the pack (in general). They guard camp regularly, protecting the wolves from threats. Once they reach 20 moons cycles they can be chosen to mentor a Guard Apprentice. ~Permeant care-takers~ -Permeant care-takers take care of puppies. Once a puppy turns 1 moon cycles, their parent moves out of the den. Once the parent of the puppy moves out, a permanent care-taker will move in and take care of the litter. The parents get to choose which care-taker takes care of their litter though. Care-takers sleep in the same nest as the puppies they take care of, making sure they eat, play games, and take naps. Once an apprentice reaches 19 moons, they can choose to become a permanent care-taker if they want. Care-takers are the same age range as Hunters and Guards. They can go on training and hunting patrols, and can go on border patrols if they are not taking care of a litter. They do have to be with another adult if outside of camp by themselves. ~Elders~ -Elders are the oldest wolves of the packs. They are 65 moon cycles to death. They can be outside of camp, but must be with a an adult that’s not an elder. They can also go on hunting patrols, but cannot go on border patrols, training patrols, or battles. They can most commonly tell stories to kits and apprentices. They can also assist Medicine Learners and Medics with herb gathering. ~Medicine Learners~ -Medicine Learners are young wolves learning how to be medics. They are ages 13-20 moon cycles, and a Ghost must visit them at least once at this time. They will learn different herb uses, healing methods, and how to listen to prophecies. They can go outside of camp by themselves for herb gathering patrols, but cannot go out of camp during night or for other types of patrols or battles. They visit the Misted Forest every 3 inrp days, where they can talk to Ghosts and Spirits that are not their family members. ~Medics~
(+) ~Medics~ Medics are ages 21 moon cycles to death. They take care of sick and injured cats and talk to the Spirits and Ghosts. They have the same rules about being outside of camp and going on patrols as Medicine Learners. They can also go with a guard to another Pack’s territory if they need herbs that are not found in their territory. They visit the Misted Forest every 3 inrp months, where they can talk to Ghosts and Spirits that are not their family members. ~Second in Command~ Second in Commands (Also known as Seconds) are in charge of patrols and battles. They must be at least 27 moons cycles old, and had to of had at least one apprentice. They choose what wolves go out on what patrols, and organize battle groups. Once the Leader dies, they will become the Leader and choose a new Second. They can be out of camp any time of day and can go on any type of patrol. ~Leaders~ Leaders are in charge of the Clan. Once they become a leader they gain a suffix to their name. They are in charge of clan meetings, choosing deputies, choosing who mentors what cat, and making any important decision in general. Every 3 inrp moons they have a meeting with only other pack leaders at the Snake Cave. They have the same rules about deputies about patrols and leaving camp. They are not allowed to have puppies during this time unless they were pregnant before becoming leader.
