I will not stop fighting. Fighting for lives. Fighting for rights. Fighting for myself. The first Pride was a riot, a fight for identity. We were fighting for things that shouldn’t have to be fought for. We are fighting for things that shouldn’t have to be fought for. No matter how much you try and stop us, We will not stop fighting. All we want is a safe place, where we can be ourselves without fear. All we want equal rights for everyone. All we want is to feel like we have place in this world. Thats something we should never have to fight for. So instead of sitting there, watching us fight, Join us. Help us to make the world a better place for everyone. No matter what you do, No matter how much you bring us down, We will not stop fighting.
So this was my entry for a writing competition held all around Australia. The topic was 'What matters to you?' so I wrote a poem about queer rights because I think that needs to be talked about more. It's titled 'The Fight.' and I'm pretty proud of it because it's my longest poem yet! Blondie if your reading this, please don't ask.
