TW// violence, homophobia, forcing religion Heartslabyul was a pretty dormant place for the most part. The most commotion would be if Riddle caught you breaking a rule or slacking off. Ace and Deuce’s roommates were gone a lot of the time, so they had a lot of time to tease each other and cuddle. Neither would admit it to the public, not even to Yuu, but they enjoyed being affectionate. Ace would be quiet and Deuce would be calm. But nothing lasts forever, does it? No one liked Puck. He was a second year student (also of the spade suit) who couldn’t keep his thoughts and feelings to himself and then would be upset if everyone in his vicinity did not agree and adapt to his lifestyle. Everyone across all the dorms thought he should transfer to Noble Bell College, for he would fit in much better there. Puck had a habit of trespassing into other dorm rooms when he wasn’t even close to being invited. That was exactly what happened to poor Ace and Deuce. They had finished their homework (a miracle, honestly) and were sitting right against each other on Ace’s bed. They heard Puck’s thunderous footsteps long before he barged in. He saw Ace’s head on Deuce’s shoulder, and his face went red with anger quicker and deeper than Riddle’s could ever go. “This is against God!” he snorted. “Two men being so close? Isn’t that gay?” Ace was about to interject with ‘I’m not a man’ but Puck wouldn’t shut up. “Homosexuality is a sin!” “HEY!” Deuce cut in, pupils dilated just like they were in the mines at the beginning of the year. “You shut your mouth!” “What are you gonna do about it, [REDACTED]?” Clock’s grin seemed to widen. Deuce’s blood boiled and he pulled out his magic pen. Ace couldn’t help but notice it was a slightly darker red than usual, more like the Scarabia pens than Heartslabyul. The second year drew his pen in turn, the magestone embedded within it glowing with mana charging up. Clock cast his unique magic, and Deuce countered it with his own. “I'll make you pay for that! Brace yourself! Double Down!” he cried, sending Clock’s magic back at him with double the force. Clock was blasted backwards, hitting the wall. Deuce abandoned magic and began pummeling Clock with his fists. Ace saved his magic pen, afraid the tussle would crack the magestone. They felt utterly helpless. Deuce was getting hurt. Someone else was getting hurt. A pair of ungloved hands grabbed Deuce, and an identical pair grabbed Clock. “Whoa fam, that’s not Cammable~!” Cater exaggerated. Of course; he’d used Split Card to get the two boys away from each other. “Deucey, I thought you knew better! You are SO lucky to know that I won’t snitch to Rids♡” Cater’s clone – or Kei as many called it – walked Clock to another part of Heartslabyul. Cater walked into Ace and Deuce’s dorm room. “Hey, Acey~!” he greeted with his classic playful lilt. “Oh, hey, Cater. What are you doing here?” Ace’s voice wavered slightly. The upperclassman flopped on one of their roommate’s unoccupied beds. “Was taking a walk, and saw you lil’ underclassmen in a bit of a pickle!” Cater dropped his bubbly act for a bit. “So, wanna tell me what happened?” Ace and Deuce looked at each other. Deuce grabbed Ace’s hand. “He insulted them,” Deuce muttered. Ace spun around. “He insulted you, too!” they shot back. Cater watched them bicker for a second before speaking again. “Alrighty, wouldn’t want a repeat, so cool your beans!” The couple snapped back into attention. “So, Clock boy insulted you two? What for?” Ace stepped forward. “We’re a couple, Cater-senpai. He insulted us for being gay.” Cater’s green eyes widened. “Whoa, low blow!” He thought for a while. “I might have to tell Rids about this one. He could get suspended for that! Being homophobic in an all-boys school…not like you guys have any other options, LOL!”
