~Bailey~ "Blake, where are we going?" I whined, hating being blindfolded, especially in the car. My struggle with car sickness got a whole lot worse when I couldn't see. "Why can't you just tell me?" He let out a sigh of mock frustration and said, "Because Bails, that would ruin the surprise." I groaned and slumped down further in my seat. "Fine. But it better be a good one." "Don't worry Bailey," I could hear the smile in his voice. "It will be." ~Blake~ I opened her door for her and helped her out of the car. "Can I take the blindfold off now?" She asked. I laughed. "Nope. We're not there yet." I twined my fingers with hers and led her through the field filled with wildflowers to the spot where I laid at least twenty pillows and ten blankets out on the ground. "Okay," I said. "Take off the blindfold!" She yanked the blindfold off of her face faster than humanly possible. Then she gasped. "Blake," She breathed, her hands over her mouth. A gust of wind blew her brown hair in all directions. Then she turned to me. "Stargazing?" I nodded, knowing I had a goofy grin on my face. Bailey tackle hugged me, almost knocking us both to ground, then once we regained our balance, she got on her tip toes and kissed me. "This is the best." She said when she pulled away. "Thank you." I smiled even wider. "You know I would do anything for you Bails." ~Bailey~ This man. This man was the one I wanted to be with forever. I wrapped my arms around his neck and kissed him again. His hands found their way to my waist. Our kiss seemed long, but at the same moment all to short. When Blake pulled away, he slipped his hand in mine and craned his neck toward the sky. I did the same. "People say that because we're only nineteen that it will never work out," He said it softly, so soft I almost didn't hear it. "They say we'll regret only dating one person in our whole lifetimes. But I won't regret it." His eyes met mine again. "Bailey?" "Yes?" "You bring out the best in me. You encourage me to be a better man. A better follower of Christ. I don't have a lot, but what I have is yours. See Bails, I know I won't regret it, because the only one I want, the only one I've ever wanted is you. Forever and always. You. So..." Expertly, he dropped down to one knee and pulled a small box out of his pocket. "Bailey Lynn Jackson...will you marry me?" My heart stopped as my hands made their way back to my mouth. For the longest moment, I couldn't speak. After what felt like an eternity, I stared into Blake's hopeful blue eyes and practically screamed, "Yes! Yes I'll marry you!" I threw my arms around him again, tears coming down my face. When I looked a little closer at what was in the box, I saw it wasn't a ring. It was a gold locket shaped like a heart. Blake noticed me looking at it and said, "Don't worry. I will get you a ring for the wedding but I remembered you said that you don't like to wear rings because they always turn your finger colors and you always end up losing them. So I got you a necklace. I hope that's okay." I held the necklace up in awe. "It's perfect." I was full on sobbing now. "Just like this whole proposal. Just like you." I brushed a lock of his jet black hair out of his face. "I wouldn't change this moment for the world." Three years later... ~Blake~ "You've got this Bails. Push." A gut wrenching groan of agony filled the room. I squeezed Bailey's hand tighter. "One more push." The doctor said. "One more." I repeated to Bailey. "You can do it babe." I heard Bailey take a deep breath, and scream again. Her hand had a death grip on my hand, but she did it. A moment later, the doctor calmly announced, "They're here." "They?" Bailey and I asked at the exact same time. The doctor laughed and the nodded. "Twins. A boy and a girl." "How did-how...how did we never know about this?" I asked. Bailey giggled. "The Lord works in mysterious ways." I wrapped my arm gently around Bailey's shoulders as she held our newborn son and daughter in her arms. "Yes he does Bails. Yes he does."
Had a lot of fun with this one! I picked the images at random to see what I'd come up with, and I based the story off of that so here we are. I hope you enjoyed this!
