When he was young, Galethunder lost his entire family (Scorch, Pearl, Maple, Casper, and Birch) in a forest fire. Galethunder was the youngest cat, and therefore the weakest. Wandering the world alone, he struggled to survive, never learning how to properly take care of himself. Chestnutstar (Chestnutheart at this time) found Galethunder and took him in, making him an apprentice. With her, he easily became the most skilled warrior on Moorclan. And when Chestnutstar became leader, he was easily announced her deputy. However, upon learning the news of his family's death (he was far too young to remember and thought he was just a loner the clan found), he didn't take the news well. Yearning to be with his family, he became desperate to k!ll himself With this, he also doubted Chestnutstar's authority and would also get into fights with her. Loving him like a son, Chestnutstar would always keep an eye on Galethunder so that he may not leave her. After one of their fights, Chestnutstar went into battle, resulting in her unfortunate de@th. Struken by grief, Galethunder almost took down the position of deputy, but knowing Chestnutstar would never want him to give up, he became the leader of Moorclan.
