[Attrition] - Hyperforges are the pinnacle of attrition. They can construct large super carriers and dreadnoughts in mere weeks and entire squadrons of ships in a similar time span. While being powered by a Dyson swarm and using the available resources around them. Allowing them to construct fleets in the thousands every week and millions in years. Due to the current total war state that Voidia is in every ship will count and against the gems it is a requirement to have such advanced ship yards. Not only that but by using Inchworm Drones Voidia can effectively repair ships as large as dreadnoughts in a matter of hours. Allowing ships that would have been rendered inoperable to reenter combat. The sole goal of the Hyperforges is to construct as many fleets and ships as possible. To make the Voidian navy the BIGGEST in all of PU. Of course it can't just roll out millions of ships. Those ships need crews which need training and each new ship needs to be accounted for with logistics. Currently Voidia has a grand total of 3 million ships with at most 10,000 ships every year built. Even then these ships are not heavy hitters and mostly lighter ships (to fit with Voidias new naval doctrine). As one could imagine this makes hyperforges the single greatest shipyards the galaxy has ever seen. [Defenses] - Obviously the hyperforges are very juicy targets. They are slow (due to their large size) and require a constant influx of materials to produce ships. In response the hyperforges have multiple additions: of course one is the dimensional (aka gravity) shield. However another addition is moving these hyperforges into artificial pocket universes which can allow for Voidia to keep hyperforges in safe locations away from combat. Not only that but hyperforges themselves can be best described as large space faring factories. They have numerous defensive weapons to protect themselves (although they still need an escort at most to be kept safe). [Playing the Long Game] - Voidia is fully prepared for GW2 to go on for a long LONG time. It makes sense. It is a truly galactic war and thus has prepared for hyperforges to end up producing too many ships. In which case Voidia plans on simply putting such ships into massed storage inside massive storage "boxes" and putting them in reserve. Of course the biggest disadvantage currently is the fact that hyperforges are utterly insane concepts. If a nation has even just a few hyperforges they could in theory grow their navy to disgusting levels of size. Thus Voidia (obviously) intends to keep the blueprints and the exact nature of these mega structures mostly a secret. This is such a large strategic advantage that if the rest of the Galaxy gets their hands on it things will be utterly COOKED. Hyperforges are also technically self sustaining and can last for years without human contact simply strip mining the entire system leaving behind nothing but ghost fleets. While this isn't likely to happen (assuming that your civilization doesn't disappear one day) it shouldn't be that bad. But in theory if a civilization was dumb enough to give hyperforges the ability to create autonomous war machines and the ability to build themselves then we will be utterly cooked. It'll be like grey goo but far FAR worse. [Its a Damn Secret] - Remember hyperforges are MASSIVE strategic advantages Voidia does NOT want other nations getting their hands on this stuff. Thus it has been careful to keep hyperforges a secret (after all if you don't know it exists you cant copy it or ban it) Voidia at this point has secretly while not informing the rest of the Galaxy, that it has developed a system that effectively has revolutionized war. The galaxy likely does not understand the scale of the shift yet. Many would likely simply believe what their seeing is wartime mobilization, emergency industrialization, temporary escalation. However Voidia knows that to win the war it must shove their hyperforges to their absolute max and that other civilizations will begin asking questions. As hyperforges are 100% going to become well known after this war Voidia has a few plans on stopping the rest of the Galaxy from stopping them. The simple solution? Just LIE! Of course. This is not going to last. But by that point Voidia would have such a large advantage in hyperforges that it wouldn't really matter. Voidia would become an industrial and military power house out numbering the fleets of the Galaxy likely combined. The idea is to lie about how effective they really are meaning that when the galaxy does eventually make them their actually WORSE then Voidian hyperforges and by the time everyone realizes it's be too late. This lie will include deliberately only making a few thousand ships a month instead of at full output and secretly placing those excess ships into storage. +
Not only that but after war you're not gonna need to mass produce hundreds of thousands of ships a year so we can tone down on ships produced which can help sell off the idea. [Safety] - Luckily for us Voidia knows how dangerous these can be if used incorrectly. They know that these stations can in theory: strip entire systems in a matter of years. Thus hyper forges: 1. Are limited in nature 2. Are never at full maximum capacity 3. Always under observation 4. Never NEVER allowed to produce their own ships that are unmanned genuinely my most unhinged concept yet... I spent some time developing this concept and it did NOT disappoint
