Hello boys and girls, and everyone across the spectrum! Today I have another "About My Life" type of project for you. Its a lot happier than the last one, at least, from my point of view. Today I'll be talking about how I went from LDS to UU. Latter day saint to Unitarian Universalist. Lets get into it! So, I was born and raised as LDS. And don't get me wrong, Its a great religion, but it wasn't right for me. I didn't like how constricting it was, all the rules I needed to follow, and the amount of war in its history and beliefs. I felt like I couldn't be myself without worrying were I would end up in the afterlife. So one day I went on a search. For a religion with no strict rules, something that supported everyone and tried to make the world a better place without trying to convert people. And I found it. You see, the UU community tries to support you for you. NO matter how you want to represent yourself. They believe in forming your own belief of the afterlife, and making things better for all in this life. I like that. I haven't told my mom yet. Her side of the family is strictly LDS. And I don't want them trying to fix me, set me on what they think is the right path. And maybe it is for them, but I know what I believe, yet I'm to scared to say. My friends are the only ones that know, which is why I'm posting this. Cuz y'all are the family I never had. Love you <3
