-Born from the stars- chapter 1 Minnowkit scrambled after a dragonfly zooming between reeds. It kept slipping out of sight, but she was determined not to let it get away. Just as Minnowkit caught up to it and reached out her paw she clumsily tripped on a stone sending her flying. “Eek!” She struggled to get her footing, but where there once was earth was replaced with air. Minnowkit looked down and saw deep blue water beneath her feet. Right before she fell into the water, she felt jaws clamp her scruff and carry her to land. “Be more careful! Emberlilly will kill me if I let you fall in the river.” An annoyed voice growled. Minnowkit looked up to see it was Featherstone who had saved her, Grasskit, Vixenkit, and Shallowkits’ mother. Emberlilly was Riverclan’s medicine cat, and she liked to fuss over Minnowkit a lot. “Thanks Featherstone, sorry.” She mewed. “Whatever, just don't do it again.” Featherstone huffed before walking away. Minnowkit sighed. Featherstone didn't like her very much. She looked back at the now calm river that almost swallowed her. Minnowkit wondered if the other kits wanted to play something. She hopped back over to the nursery from where she strayed. She spotted the three kits playing with a ball of moss near a shrub where they're mother couldn't see them. Shallowkit and Grasskit looked a lot like Featherstone, with gray fur and white paws, and Grasskit being a little more stripy. Vixenkit, on the other paw, had a dark russet colored pelt with occasional silver splotches. She walked up to them and asked, “Hey, whatcha doing?” “Oh great, the mutant's back.” Vixenkit muttered under her breath to Grasskit as Minnowkit stepped up. “Can I play? It looks fun!” “We told you already, go away Minnowkit! We don't like you!” Vixenkit huffed. “Yeah, you always mess everything up, go back to where you came from.” Grasskit backed her up. Minnowkit muffled a growl. This always happened when she tried to play. “Come on, I can play just as normally as you!” She fought back. “Really?” Vixenkit challenged, “If you’re so normal, then why is your tail messed up?” Tears of frustration welled up in Minnowkit's eyes. It seemed wherever she went, someone had a reason to hate her. She scurried off and seeked cover in a small bush. The best thing to do when she was frustrated was to get away from the problem. She flicked her black and mottled white tail. It was the main thing the other kits teased about. It was deformed in a way that it split on the end into two chunks, kinda like a fish's. Minnowkit still didn't know why everyone always made such a big deal about it! It was handy for helping her balance and it worked just like a normal tail. It also didn't help that she wasn't born a clan kit. Emberlilly had found her curled up next to the moonpool when visiting for the halfmoon meeting, and if it weren't for her, the clan would've kicked Minnowkit out by now. She huffed and looked away. When she was a warrior, she would show all of Riverclan that she was capable, and stronger than anyone else.
