Hey peeps! I used @NaomiRose2012 's Writing prompt to write this maybe I'll turn it I to something more? idk ------------------------------------------------------------- I stood there, bored, holding a half-dead butterfly in my hand. With my eyes, I followed a young man, about fifteen. He got out his phone, stared at it a second, then suddenly looked up and looked at me, his eyes in mine. That's when my life changed forever. “Are you killing that butterfly?” He asked me. I stared at him. This cute guy couldn’t be talking to me, not me with all my boringness. “Or is it already dead?” He continued. He was talking to me! “Um, I was trying to save it, but it won’t fly away and there are a lot of birds over here. I was about to give up.” “Would you like some help?” He said. “Uh, sure I guess?” I answered. He walked off the path he was walking on and came over to where I was by the pond “can I see please?” he said holding out his hand. “Sure” I said delicately handing him the poor thing. “Aha!” he exclaimed “Just what I thought its wings are damp. It can’t flap them because the moisture made them too heavy.” “Oh” I said with a sheepish grin “I was wondering why it wasn’t flapping its wings” “its easy to miss" he said gently blowing on the butterfly’s wings to separate them “Let’s set it here on this sunny rock here. Where the birds won’t see it.” “So it’ll be fine?” I asked “yep,” he said “after a few minutes its wings will be dry and it can fly away.” “Thank you for helping me.” I said “I’m savanna” “I’m Carter, I go to school with you right?” “Um I don’t think so, I’m homeschooled.” I said laughing. “Oops, sorry I didn’t actually think I went to school with you, just if I did and I forgot I didn’t want you to know that I forgot, because I pretty much know everyone at my school.” He paused for a second replaying what he said in his head “if that makes sense?” “It makes sense to me” I said smiling. He made a funny face like the one you make when you mess something up only to find out it worked out in the end. “Do you want to get some coffee with me or something?” he asked. I blushed and looked down, “well I would love to but…” "but what?” he asked. “I don’t know what my mom would say about that. Sorry.” “It's alright that was kinda forward of me anyway. Well do you wanna be friends savanna?” I actually wanted to be more than friends but I knew my parents weren’t ready for me to date. They didn’t even want to let me go to summer camp (in their defense it is three hours away). “Sure!" I said “do you live around here.” “yep, I live on that road over there” “Wait, Isabella street?” “Um, yeah” he said warily. “Sorry, I’m only asking because I live on that street too!” “No way. Well I’m number 27” I stood my mouth ajar “what!” he said “I live at 29 we’re next door neighbors!” “Well would you look at that! I can come visit you!” I looked down again. “parents?” He asked. “Yep,” I said “I barely convinced them to let me come here alone.” “Here!” He exclaimed, it seemed he was fond of exclaiming, “We can meet here!” “if I can get my parents to let me come sure!” I replied excitedly. “cool” he said “But how will we know when one of us is at the park?” I asked. “Phones duh. Just put your number in” he said. I took the phone and typed he looked at it and sighed. I had typed “I don’t have a phone” in the bar. “Well there’s only one thing for it I’m going to meet your parents” “What!!!” I said “No!!!” “Come on let's go!” he grabbed my hand and led me towards our houses.
