TS-31D ("Red 506") adds anti-satellite capabilities. It uses a missile called '14A045 (Izdeliye 293) Burevestnik'. This missile deploys a small maneuvering on-orbit vehicle after several booster stages, and is capable of loitering in space. It can engage satellites ranging from low Earth orbit (450-500 km) to at least 700 km inside the exosphere. (Mig31D is a russian ASAT upgrade to Mig31 in Kazakhstan. TS-31I ("Blue impulse") is an upgrade to the TS-31BM/BSM heavy multirole fighter/intercepter. Upgrades include fly-by-wire control, different engines, in-flight refueling capability, improved avionics (enabling the use of the C-77M/ME and C-37M missiles), and CCRP for the Kinzhal missile to optimize its range and speed.
