I find Akutagawa to be a very compelling character. Behind his intimidating appearance he is actually very goofy! In Bungo Stray Dogs he is an Executive for the Port Mafia. He has the ability "Rashomon". Rashomon transforms any clothing (most often his coat) into a violent monster capable of slicing through anything. Including space itself. He has a younger sister, Gin, who is also in the Port Mafia. They were both orphans living on the streets before they were picked up by the mafia. Akutagawa is a very formidable opponent and has an intense rivalry with the main character of the series Atsushi. Despite this he has a deadly lung disease that is slowly killing him. His favorite food is figs and he also enjoys tea. He dislikes dogs, bonsai trees and baths. All in all Akutagawa is a complex character with a lot of character development thought the series.
