❀ Q - (Not part of the survey) Would you like your answers to be credited (if so, to what username?) or would you like to remain anonymous? ❀ A - @Cherryleaf40 is fine <3 ❀ Q - How long have you been voice acting? ❀ A - Nearly two years now! I started in 2024 :o ❀ Q - How do you most frequently find a series to audition for? ❀ A - Mainly I just look in the Voice Auditions studios, sometimes I browse fellow VA’s profiles to find stuff to audition for ❀ Q - What makes you choose to click a casting call? ❀ A - Typically I’d look for, I’ll admit, a nice thumbnail and good art. These are kind of like proof that help tell me whether the final project would actually be made. ❀ Q - After viewing a casting call, what makes you decide whether or not you want to audition for it? ❀ A - Usually I choose projects that seem like they’ll actually make the final result, as said above, so stuff that wouldn’t suddenly get cancelled, and of good quality in my opinion. ❀ Q - What is something (or multiple things) that will make you immediately choose not to audition for something? ❀ A - Obviously I wouldn’t audition for anything with inappropriate content or language. I definitely also wouldn’t audition for anything project where the creator/host interacts negatively. Other conditions varies between different vas <3 ❀ Q - What component(s) make a casting call (not someone’s audition) high quality? ❀ A - AS said before, a good tn and art, or anything that signifies that the final result will be produced. Voice references and personas/descriptions for the characters would be nice too. ❀ Q - What do you like to know about a series you’re considering auditioning for? ❀ A - I like to fully understand a series before auditioning, as it would make my audition of higher quality. ❀ Q - Do you like to have a visual of the characters? ❀ A - Definitely. It supports my knowledge on the character, therefore making it more effective to voice them (eg an image of a bubbly looking little girl with huge eyes that shine, I can voice it better than if there was just a description saying “bubbly, happy young girl”) ❀ Q - What is important to include in a character’s voice description? ❀ A - I’d prefer voice references. It makes it a lot easier. ❀ Q - What’s your favorite kind of character to voice act or audition for? ❀ A - In my opinion, any character that reflects myself irl. It makes my audition more truthful and I can more effectively and convincingly voice act. ❀ Q - What should a casting call include? ❀ A - A thumbnail, general information on the project, the characters, their personas, voice references, pictures, and voice lines, and a form. Forms are optional, but I find it (I’m also a creator) easier to use them to keep track of auditions. ❀ Q - What do you want to know about the character(s) you’re auditioning for? ❀ A - As said before, an image wouldn’t be unheard of, and voice references as well. ❀ Q - Is it important for a casting call to be high quality and why or why not? ❀ A - It absolutely is important. More people audition for calls of high quality from my experience. ❀ Q - What is the best way for a series creator to give you lines you need to record? ❀ A - Usually it would be to send out lines in a project and the actors remix the project with their lines. However, if the lines are to be recorded in private, methods such as secretly sending lines to actors by finding very long conversation threads and just replying to them at the bottom OR using other platforms can be done. ❀ Q - What would you want the creator of a series to know about when it comes to VAs? ❀ A - It would be better for the creator to get to know VAs, and perhaps listen to some of their other auditions and/or content because sometimes the actor’s actual audition isn’t as good as their usual quality. If the creator didn’t know this, they would’ve lost a good VA, however if they do listen to the actor’s other content they could ask the actor to try again and see if it’s better. ☆ That’s all the questions, thank you so much for doing this survey! ☆
That was fun!! :D
