This is what I ACTUALLY do in Minecraft... 1. I make a dirt hut 2. I dig down to expand my base 3. I think "okay, I'll just make one more floor!" 4. I make a super big house 5. I never move out 6. I now have 5 double chests full of stone from digging TA-DAAAA!!!
