conzercheez: Hey. So the whole 'oh no everybody's getting hacked its awful' thing. This is pretty avoidable and something that I think should be addressed considering how many kids here there are. So here's some tips, from someone who's been online for most of their life as an 18 year old. 1. If someone tells you to jump, don't ask how high. | Not literally, you know. But if you see something suspicious like 'click this link!' or 'look in this part of the project!' then, by all means, take into consideration; 'Is this person who I think they are?' Most users are aware of link spamming and more, but the amount of people who fell to being told to go to an incredibly suspicious backdrop in a very notably wiped project is.. Something. 2. Password Changes. Do this whenever you think your account is compromised, in danger, or if it's been a good amount of time. It likely boots all users on the account out of it, and if you need, keep a hold on the email your scratch account is linked to. DO NOT SHARE PASSWORDS BETWEEN YOUR EMAIL AND SCRATCH ACCOUNT IT IS THE WORST THING YOU COULD DO FOR YOUR SAFETY 3. General Online Caution. Not everybody online is gonna want to be your friend. Not everybody online has your best interests in mind. People can be malicious; intentionally or even unintentionally. And it's important to keep people at an arm's length until you know for sure that they can be trusted. 4. Personal Info. If you share your personal info online that's literally. No... Hey did you know there's something called doxxing online? You are signing yourself up for that. Don't share your state, don't share your county, don't share your real name, don't share your mental health issues, don't share your personal details to the internet. Anyone can see them, no matter how 'hidden' you think they are. Anyone can stumble upon those things and not have the kindest intentions unlike the person those things were meant to go to. Scratch is full of impressionable kids, and it hurts my heart to see so many in distress due to this. Be careful and exercise online caution.
