Lanyaru, I prepared myself for the flashbacks as I squinted closer to the large, ruined gate in front of me. …Nothing. With no result, I prepared to set up camp and try again tomorrow. But I decided to look even more closely; I looked at the photo in the Sheikah Slate as well as old photos from the top of Mt. Lanyaru, taken a long time ago. Then it finally clicked. · · ─ ·☁︎· ─ · · “Goddess Hylia… please. I need an answer from you… anything.” Zelda has been standing in the freezing Lanyaru waters for nearly an hour now. She was already shivering badly, and I knew I couldn’t let her continue suffering like last time. “Zelda, that’s enough. It’s time to stop.” “Link, please,” she hissed at me, “I need a moment. I beg of you.” Even while flinching at her words, my concern took over me. “I’m not letting you stay like this, like last time.” Holding her hand, I began leading her out of the freezing waters. “I’m not making the same mistake as last time, Zelda. I’m sorry.” “Link…” she said, sobbing and shivering, yet not resisting like last time. “...I don’t know what to do anymore. I…” Suddenly, I couldn’t resist listening to her fears and struggling on her own. I hugged her close for the first time, wanting to remind her she wasn’t alone in this. Zelda gasped slightly upon feeling my warmth, then immediately broke down in tears. "Please don't go," Zelda whimpered. "I can't do this anymore." “I’m not going anywhere without you, Zelda. Never.” In this moment, I didn’t care about anything else. It was just Zelda and me, silently trying to keep everything together. We stood like this for a long time. I give Zelda as much time as she needs in my arms, allowing her emotions to spill out. "I'm sorry," Zelda croaked, her throat raw. “Don’t be, please,” I said. “You always have me. Always.” “Thank you, Link.” Zelda finally calmed down as she slowly left our shared embrace, wiping her tears. “We should go, Zelda. The others are waiting for us,” I whispered. She gasped, trying to catch her own breath. “Okay… okay, Link.” She reached out to hold my hand, and I held hers as we made the descent down Mount Lanyaru. Anytime I saw her shivering again, I always cuddled her close to me, trying to share some of my warmth. This time, she just accepted and embraced me tightly anytime I tried to warm her up. She became much sweeter after calming down. Gosh, how much I loved her. As we approached the Champions, I made sure to let go of her hand before anyone saw. The Champions, on the other side, eagerly awaited our arrival. “Well? Don’t keep us in suspense,” Daruk murmured. “How’d everything go up there on the mountain?” Zelda shook her head slowly in disappointment, her shoulders slumping. “So you felt nothing? No power at all?” “I’m sorry, no,” she mumbled as she stared at the ground. “Then let’s move on, my little bird,” Urbosa pointed out, her voice barely above a whisper. “You’ve done all you could. Feeling sorry for yourself won’t be of any help. After all, Mt. Lanyaru isn’t your last shot anyway; anything could spark your power. We just have to keep searching.” I stared into Zelda’s saddened eyes, wanting to comfort her but simply couldn’t. “That’s very kind of you. Thank you.” “If I may, Princess,” Mipha whispered as she leaned in, breaking the silence. “I was thinking… well, it’s hard for me to say without being embarrassed. But I was thinking about what I do while I’m healing. You know… what usually goes through my mind.” Taking a moment for her to catch her own breath, she finally said out loud, “It helps me when I think—” Oh, Mipha. ”...when I think about—” Suddenly, in an instant, the ground started rumbling. Badly. · · ─ ·☁︎· ─ · · ☆⌒(ゝ。∂) ʰᵉʸᵒᵎ ᶜᵒⁿᵗᶦⁿᵘᵉᵈ ᵇᵉˡᵒʷᵎᵎ

Revali immediately flew upwards to figure out what was happening. Then, a fierce roar surged across the air, echoing across the mountains. We could tell, unfortunately, what was happening. It was clear as day. “It’s here.” “It’s awake…” Zelda stared at the darkening sky, her breath hitching. “Ganon!” A cloud of gloom loomed over the valleys of Mt. Lanyaru silently as the Champions, except Urbosa, departed by themselves to their Divine Beasts. “Come, we should go,” Urbosa whispered. “We need to get you someplace safe.” “No!” Zelda faltered. “I am not a child anymore! I may not be of much use on the battlefield… But there must be something I can do to help!” “I understand, my little bird. I’ll let Link take care of you.” Urbosa then departed herself, leaving just us two in the gates of Mt. Lanyaru. We pondered for a bit before deciding to finally go, holding her hand tightly. “Zelda. It’s now or never.” “Yes, Link.” We took on our steeds strapped to a nearby stand, and we ran through the dense jungles of the Lanyaru forests to face Ganon. Zelda needed to stay safe with me among Ganon’s forces. And honestly? I was scared. What if I failed when it mattered most? What if I… · · ─ ·☁︎· ─ · · My mind snapped back instantly as the memory faded from my mind. I could now understand fully why Zelda was so overwhelmed by duty; the pressure of the Hyrulean people always looking upon her was too much for her. And yet, even with this, it still did not make full sense about the other gaps in my previous memories, especially the biggest: Why I was here now. I needed more answers. In this moment, I knew I couldn’t delay my search any longer. I packed up everything and began heading back to the location of the next memory with my trusty steed. This last memory, along with Impa's, was the last sliver of hope I had left. Even if I couldn’t sleep, I refused to anyway. I couldn’t wait any longer. I had to make this quick. Once I was done with the final memory in the Sheikah Slate, I had to let Impa tell me about the final memory. The final key to my own destiny. 。゚•┈୨♡୧┈• 。゚ ↷✦; ɴᴏᴛᴇ: @ᴍᴀꜱᴛᴇʀʟɪɴᴋ_ ʜᴀꜱ ʟᴏɢɢᴇᴅ ᴏᴜᴛ :> Ch. 10: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1314281314/ Ch. 12: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1325998192/ ⋆˚࿔ hope you enjoyed! :3 ⋆.˚ ———————— -ˋˏ ༻❁༺ ˎˊ- ———————— ₊˚. ༘ ❝ credits┆˚✧ ╰┈➤ dedicated to @sneakyWulf2811 ~ ୨♡୧ ~ ⁀➴ please go read her fanfic :D ⁀➴ ch. 65 pt. 1: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1311856616 ╰┈➤ thumbnail created by me (@MasterLink_) on the website Canva ╰┈➤ thumbnail images from Google/Nintendo ╰┈➤ thumbnail text from cooltext.com (fonts: Jinky, VAG HandWritten) ╰┈➤ tiny/aesthetic text from lingojam.com, cute-symbols.com, emojidb.org ╰┈➤ BotW Full Walkthrough from YT channel Zelda Universe ╰┈➤ music: none lol ———————— -ˋˏ ༻❁༺ ˎˊ- ————————
