thumbnail id - a sketched black and white digital art image of a woman with long dark colored hair standing in front, shielding her face cautiously from the object in the background, 3d text that states "RULE 6", making cracks in the ground and overshadowing her. the text in the bottom left reads "Well.. that happened fast." ----------------------------------------------------------------------- i am going to start this off very quickly by saying that i do not wish harassment towards anyone involved in this conflict, or revolt if you will. i will not @ peoples usernames as i dont want this to be seen as a callout post. on may fifth 2026, a 'seemingly sudden' but VERY large amount of gaehiveans began pointing out the wrongdoings of the managers, specifically referring to rule six. rule six, as im sure youve been made aware of before viewing this, is a policy on gaehive that revolves around not speaking to or providing attention to trolls. managers choose who and who isnt a troll, but they may rely on evidence provided by other sources, typically members of gaehive. the initial problem with this starts with a few people, but specifically we'll start with moon. moon was and arguably still is a very notable figure in gaehive, often discussing politics or making ragebait intended to be funny. an important thing to note for this is that moon is friends with some of the gaehive managers. as time went on, evidence of moon saying a multitude of slurs that they can NOT reclaim became public, as well as examples of antisemitism and racism. a small handful of people in gaehive spoke out about this, notably jt, seth, metqhalap. the insane irony in this is that the people who spoke about these issues were under rule six. i do think that some of the people speaking out had done things that were worthy of rule six, like being rude or inciting drama. but that fails to compare to the actions of moon. so whats to prove from all of this? sure, rule six may be misused, but the only recent thing has come from this? that is where you would be wrong. managers (some. not all.) prove their lack of maturity around this situation by ignoring it and closing the studio, as well as showing bias towards moon per past friendships. this whole revolt as its being called should have been expected. ever since 6hive lived and died people began to notice the weird workings of a rule that depends purely upon the managers to decide who is a troll and who isnt. while there are definitely some clear stances, (ableism, racism, antisemitism, zionism, etc) there is also a concerning amount of bias. users are more likely to get rule sixxed if they are lower in social status, while people like moon do not face issue for their actions, at the most recieving slight warnings. so what can be done about this? personally, i think the only way rule six can really be "reformed" is by instilling some sort of public vote. allow gaehivians to decide or come to a conclusion rather than rely on a group of people who may lack personal experience. the entirety of gaehive is intended to be against harmful censorship, and this is not the way to do it. this rule strains relationships in an already unstable community, and only serves to worsen the social hierarchy that exists in a sea of unending bias. it is especially important that with the lack of moderation on scratch that these rules are looked over and altered as they need to be, which hasnt been happening. people constantly discuss rule six and how it needs to be changed, this isnt a new thing, but its about time that things change.
