I got a pet slime mold recently so I decided to code one! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ HOW IT WORKS This simulation mimics learning optimal paths The "arms" will each get their own AI path. If they happen to touch a food piece, they will "consume" the piece and add the path they took to the optimal path. After 10 seconds, more arms come out, these arms will mimic the same paths that worked last time. Basically, if the path taken is preferable, it will be passed on to later generations, and vice versa CONTROLS - Click on the screen to place some food, the target for the slime mold - Press space to begin the simulation - You can place food even after the simulation starts - "Consumed" food will disappear after 5 seconds - New generation spawns every 10 seconds - Simulation resets after 50 seconds Over time, the arms should tend to move towards where the most food was last time
Slime Molds are really cool organisms. Look them up sometime! Made for Scratch week 2026 The way this project correlates is that the food serves as an "X" that the arms need to find. The arms will, over generations, go towards the most common areas that the X was
