Sorry it took so long! I've been busy with school and kinda lost motivation. It's back though!!! :) “Ah, it seems we have a new student amongst us.” My new teacher said. Apparently his name was Professor Trein. He was an older man, with grayish-white hair. He also had a familiar. A cat named Lucious. “Well, you’ve gotten lucky this time. We’re going to be studying something new, so you won’t have much catching up to do.” I nodded as I got my stuff set up. “Today, class, we will be reviving an old incantation that was well used in older times.” Professor Trein said as he passed out scrolls to everyone. “Mages used this incantation when they wanted to find weaknesses about their enemies. It will reveal a secret about anyone you choose.” He then adds, “Your assignment will be to reveal a secret about yourselves. And if I find out that ANY of you use this incantation on someone else, then you will be sent straight to the Headmage’s office!” “Like he’s gonna do anythin’.” I hear Grim mutter. I stifle a laugh. Once Professor Trein passed out all the supplies, and explained the instructions, I got to work. Class flew by quickly, and before I knew it, I heard the ring of the bell signaling the end of class. “This assignment will be due tomorrow, so if you haven’t finished it yet, then it’s homework tonight.” stated Professor Trein as we all packed up our things. As I left class, I heard a voice call out, “Hey, Ezra! Wait up!” I looked behind me and saw Ace running up to me, followed by Deuce, Yu, and Grim. “Man, I really hate that assignment.” Ace complained. “It’s not that bad.” Said Deuce, “It’s always nice to learn new incantations. And besides, complaining is not the honor student thing to do.” “Do any of you know why Deuce is so hung up on honor student stuff?” I ask, confused. “I-it’s a long story…” Grim and Yu say as they look away. “Anyway,” Ace said, interrupting the topic, “We’re all gonna hang out after classes. Wanna come with us?” “Wait, We are?” Deuce asked, clearly unaware of the happenings. “Duh! We’re all friends, so why not?!” Ace responded. Grim, Yu, and Deuce didn’t look confused one bit. “You know, now that I think about it, Ace, you never finished your assignment.” Yu said, as if he were uncovering a clue. “Oh yeah! He didn’t!” Grim exclaimed, “I’ll bet he’s tryin’a force us into hangin’ out with him so he doesn’t have to do his thing!” Grim then pointed a claw at Ace accusingly. “What!? I would never!” Ace said, almost sounding offended. “Ace, come on. That trick may work on Ezra, but not us.” Deuce sighed.
He’d clearly delt with Ace’s schemes more than enough times. “But I was gonna do it tommorrow!” Ace whined. “It’s due tommorrow!” Both Deuce and Yu exclaimed. “You know what?” Deuce offered, “If you don’t do your homework, than I’ll tell Riddle.” “What!? No! No, no, no! Please Deuce! You know how he’ll react to that!” Ace begged. “I’ll do it! Really! Please, just don’t tell Riddle!” Ace then turned to me and sighed, “Sorry Ezra, I gotta study…” “Oh, that’s ok. I was actually going to finish my homework, so I wouldn’t have been able to hang out anyway.” If I’m going to be honest, I probably would’ve rejected anyway. It’s nice that I’ve already made friends and am getting invited to things, but right now I’d rather not make myself public more times than I’m required to for a bit. “I’ve got to get to my next class. Ace, Deuce, I’ll see you guys at the dorm later. Bye Grim. Bye Yu.” I say as I start to walk away. “Bye.” They reply as we all part ways.
