Soo this is my entry for the contest sorry it took a while I kinda forgot about it :P but I'm done now! Some background info: this was just a random idea I had and idk let me know I should turn it into a full story. Also, all the characters in my stories have the same names, they are not the same people, I am just to lazy to come up with other names. I shove the school mac n cheese into my mouth. It tastes like wet cardboard, and I gag as it goes down. I'm too hungry to not eat, and this is the only option. Charlie watches me from across the table. "That looks disgusting. Wanna carrot stick?" he offers. I gladly accept and shove it in my mouth, tossing the mac-n-cheese in the trash. Thank God for Charlie. He'd been my best friend since we met in kindergarten, and I could never imagine life without him. In a strictly platonic way, of course. But lately, things had been different. The little shoulder nudges he'd give when he was making fun of me sent shivers down my spine. Every time I accidentally brushed his hand, my fingers tingled with a feeling I couldn't place. But I thought nothing of it. I wouldn't let anyone ruin our friendship, especially not a little meaningless maybe-crush. "Soo, you excited to come over today?" I asked him. "Ugh, yes, our stupid social studies project," he groaned. I laughed. It wasn't even that bad. Just then, the bell rang, and we were off to our separate classes. "See ya later!" he called to me from down the hallway. After school my mom picked us both up and drive us to my house. We went upstairs to my room to work on our project. We started discussing how we wanted to set it up and whatnot, but the conversation quickly turned off topic. We started taking about the most random things, from favorite ice cream flavors to our worst days to our worst enemies. "Ugh, Jennifer is SO annoying," Charlie complained. "She's just such a pick me," I agreed. "All the popular boys love her though." Charlie smiled. " I heard a rumor that she liked Chris." "Yeah right. Can you even picture that?" I laughed. Charlie laughed. "Yeah, really." "I'm boored," I complained. "Let's play truth or dare!" "Alright," he agreed. "Truth or dare?" "Nuh-uh! You go first!" "Nope, you first." "Fiineee," Charlie groaned. "Dare." "Hmm... I dare you to open the door and yell something really weird." Charlie laughed, walked over to the door, and yelled "I'm gay!" I chuckled. "No you are not!" He shrugged. "You got me. Now your turn. Truth or dare?" "Truth." His lips turned up at the corners in a slight smile. "Who's your crush?" I shook my head. "Nope, not doing that. "But you have tooo!" "Do I really?" I whispered. "Yeah," he said softly. "I wanna know." "Uhh, well... it's you," I said carefully, watching his face. It turned from shock to confusion to happiness all in an instant. "Wait, what? Are you serious?" "Yeah," I whispered. "Now, let's just keep going. Truth or dare?" "Truth." "You tell me your crush." He can't escape this one! He thought for a second and then whispered, so quiet I could barely hear it. "You." No. No no no! This couldn't be happening! What was I supposed to do now? I tried to change the subject. "Let's just keep playing normally." "Truth or dare?" Charlie asked. "Dare."
His dark eyes smoldered. He looked as if he was contemplating something very serious. Finally, he said, in the calmest tone of voice, "I dare you to kiss me." This was going too far. Something in my brain told me to stop, that this was dangerous, that I would regret it later, but I kept going. I scooted close to him and leaned in. His lips met mine. They were warm and soft, just as I always imagined. But I knew I was going too far. I pulled away and sat back, dazed. "That was just as I had always imagined it to be," Charlie whispered. I couldn't help myself. I softly cupped his face in my hands and pulled him closer to me. Our lips touched, and I felt him melt into the kiss. He slipped his hands around my neck, slowly stroking my hair. He pushed a lock off it behind my ear, and I felt chills running down my spine. Slowly, I pulled away, not wanting to ruin the moment. There was something in his eyes that I had never seen before, and I wasn't sure what to think. Finally, he said something. Hopefully you like it! Let me know if you want me to continue it!
