Fredbear's Family diner, Where fantasy meets fun. -=Daily News=- Hurricane, Utah Aug. 5th, 1983 BREAKING NEWS: Summer is a time of joy. However there was no joy for the popular pizzeria, "Fredbear's Family Diner". Earlier this evening at a birthday party, tragedy struck when the now 8 year old, Evan Afton son and co-founder of the restaurant, William Afton, had been bit by the iconic and main character of the restaurant, Fredbear, crushing his frontal lobe. Surveillance shows William's firstborn, Michael Afton and a few of his friends bullied the poor child before deciding to prank him by "having him give Fredbear a big kiss" Unfortunately, Michael did not see that his brother's head was in the animatronic until its jaw malfunctioned and bit down. Evan is now being rushed to urgent care in critical condition Restaurant Manager Henry Emily had this to say: "Poor Evan.....I can see now what happened..... The Animatronics were built with spring locks, which held the endoskeleton in the costume. However the spring lock cannot be breathed on, touched, or have contact with moisture.....and sadly since Evan was crying, it may have touched a spring lock....causing a malfunction in the jaw, having it snap shut.....and poor Evan's head was in the way. It's sickening and I give my sympathies to everyone who witnessed this tragedy.....and to the Afton Family" William Afton refused to comment....
