Listen and press a button once you understand the consequences of pressing each button.
This is a legit thought experiment that was created by author Tim Urban on Twitter on 24 April 2026. I've been seeing a lot of memes and people discussing this thought experiment lately, and I was actually shocked at how thought provoking the entire thing is. What I initially thought was a niche joke, as blue seemed like an absurd option, I began to see the pros and cons of each button. If blue wins, that is a win for everybody but if red wins, that is only a win for red. And assuming that the billions of children alive today are participating, then blue is the only moral option. But again, it depends, and it circles back around to whether you think other adults would even think about the kids. If less than half of them do, then you're dead. It's truly a pickle for everybody involved. My personal belief is the red button is the best option, as most people probably won't think beyond "certainly live or maybe die."
