Hi! Im doing a little series while I feel motivated to do it! Im basically going through Green Day albums (in no particular order) and giving my personal ratings on each song! We're starting with Nimrod cus the wheel said so. also the project contains the music (clean versions!!) in order! so feel free to listen along if you like! Nice Guys Finish Last 2:50 Definitely a great song to start off the album! A decently well-known song, but not my favorite for sure. The two basslines go pretty hard, but the end of the song is pretty repetitive. Rating: 7/10 Hitchin' a Ride 2:52 I really like the sound of this one!! the beat is really solid and makes me drool... and a few parts literally make me break out in song... burp!! its just the last part that scares me again with Billie's screaming. But unlike in Nice Guys Finish Last, the repetitive part kinda goes hard. Rating: 8.5/10 The Grouch 2:12 I cant relate with this song a lot because im not an old man.. #exposed!! uhmm i really like the vocals in this song tbh, i like how his voice sounds grumpy and stuff ok. Even though its not relatable to me, its a pretty solid song that i sing along to sometimes! Rating: 8/10 Redundant 3:18 I have to admit that i got sick of this song after making that one Hare SRP.... i replayed the opening part wayyy to many times and it lowk just annoys me now :( Sad cus its a pretty good song, but stupid Hare ruined it for me sssigh. Rating: 5/10 Scattered 3:02 DUDE I REALLY LIKE THIS SONG... its so good i lowk tolerate the live version cus its really good ok. It makes me think of a personal situation and it makes me happy despite the meaning of the song ok. Rating: 10/10 All the Time 2:11 Its an okay song! nothing super special to me, but i still like the vocals (who couldnt like billies angelic voice...) 7/10 Worry Rock 2:27 AGAIN... this was almost the song for Hare's dead project, so its a bit overplayed in my mind, but i still really like this one. The like sound?? tickles my brain?? i really like it. ok? 7.5/10 Platypus (I Hate You) 2:22 This song is really intense i drool ok... i can barely understand what Billie saying but its ok... cus i still like it :drooling emoji: also the song makes me think of an opp tbh... Rating: 8.5/10 Uptight 3:04 AGAIN,,, this song like reminds me of a time in my life tbh,,, again, i really like the first part of the album but it gets a bit repetitive near the end, but the instruments lowk save the repetitive part for me. Rating: 8/10 Last Ride In 3:48 This song is purely an instrumental, and im not a big fan of instrumentals lol. It does remind me of the summer i guess?? but again, but a huge fan of instrumentals/songs with no lyrics so. Low rating for that. Rating: 3/10 Jinx 2:13 I like the guitar in this one a lot tbh, and the vocals are great. Honestly, not super?? special?? to me but i still like it a decent amount. It has a long of those vocals loops that i like a lot. Pretty epic song...!! Rating: 8/10 Haushinka 3:25 I REALLY LIKE THE TRANSITION FROM JINX TO THIS ONE BRO. i really like transitions from songs in albums in general, and this one is really good. I dont even notice when the songs switch and its scary. This album is filled with repetitive songs, but its okay! repetitive songs are good sometimes... esp if the reparative part goes HARD. Haushinka is no exception!! the repritive part is pretty solid, and it has meaning (green day songs tend to be pretty deep brah). Rating: 8.5/10 Walking Alone 2:45 YES. YES. YES. i loooove the harmonica parts of this song ok.... i also love the sad-ish tone a lot. I really like when green day makes songs in a sad tone. like a lot. i also like how everything sounds and it tickles my brain. like a lot. Rating: 10/10 Reject 2:06 Pretty good song!! i like it a lot (i say that every time smh). I like Billie's nasally tone in this song, and some of the lyrics go pretty hard. Rating: 9/10 Take Back 1:09 I dont really. like this one. its too screamy for me, i feel like it could be better with better lyrics or like tone?? or something?? i dont know. not a huge fan dont kill me.. it makes me sad to see Billie RUINING his vocal cords like in this song :( /hj Rating: 4/10 King for a Day 3:13 YES.!!! FAVOURITE SONG IN THE WHOLE ALBUM!!! i really like the themes of this song! it explores gender identity (which is really woke... i love my woke band). Billie in drag is MY Andrew in drag. Theyre all really woke and thats why i like Green Day so much!! theyre not scared to sing about gender and drag and stuff... and plus i think all the members are at least Bi... (tre had a crush on billie at some point.... drooling!!) Rating: 1000/10
CONT. Good Riddance (Time of Your Life) 2:34 Classic ahh song. I feel like everyone and their mom knows this song lol. Even my uncultured brother knows this one- for good reason ofc! its pretty easy to play on guitar and a pretty solid song! the lyrics are great, and hit pretty hard :D i feel like this would have been a better song to end the album off with, but its 2nd last so i cant complain lol. Rating: 10/10 Prosthetic Head 3:30 Its okay, i havent listened to this one very much, but its a decent song. Definitely not my favourite though. Rating: 7/10 Album overall: Nimrod is a great album! they made this one during their peak, ofc! Pretty solid album, and i recently realized i never gave it a full listen before! i like it a lot though, and it has some of my favorite songs on it! overall my 4th, maybe 3rd favorite album of theirs, and a solid 9/10 Next up, American idiot!!
