Rin was open about being with Kora when talking to her mom, Kora on the other hand was side stepping saying directly that she was dating a girl. Kora's mom is very old school and strict. She wants Kora to marry a rich man and have many kids so their wealth will have somewhere to go. Kora also bullies Rin in school to keep up her appeal so no one really knows. Eventually Rin meets up with Kora to tell her the good news that Rin's mom approved and when Rin asks Kora what her mom said, all Kora said was "I love you. Rin gets the hint knowing whatever Kora's mom said is bad but loves her anyway.
