[2/2412] Where we last left off, shortly after the conquest of Alaska, the Hand in a panic, ordered 12 million soldiers of the Capital Guard to march on Yakima and its 14 thousand strong occupation force, arrest the High Nurse and disarm the continental army...... It would prove to be their undoing. The mobilization of such a large number of troops is so rushed and disorganized, that it is slow to arrive at Yakima in force. The Hand wanted this, so that the confusion would prevent troops from defecting..... But in a twist of events, this confused mobilization leads to exactly that. As the High Nurse is able to convince the first few units that reach her to defect, and turn to spread the word to the others down the road.... The blind lady herself is escorted by her aids to the front, where she begins to speak: "Warriors! Remember your oaths to protect the Prime Director with your lives. At this very moment, the Hand holds our prime Director hostage and tortures her. I know it may be hard to trust me, so allow me to show you. Lets all march and see the Prime Director for ourselves, I trust that you will shoot me if I secretly had bad motives. There is no reason for our kind to resort to human barbarism and slay our own kind, if you allow me to prove that my claims are true, then this army will stand down. I will sooner parish then shed the blood of my comrades for a false cause. But I must ask, why not trust me? I recognize many of the voices here, you know I personally saved many of you from the diseases of the Adyntum front and against the nemesis(gems) I too have an oath to fullfill, as the High Nurse of the Medical Branch of our collective. So please, I ask you to allow me to do my duty and heal the Prime Director" The soldiers are won over. Celebrating, and spreading the word to other units arriving. The Continental army, joined by the force sent to stop them begins marching on Nest, and crosses the Colombia river without resistance. The Hand desperately attempts to get troops to fight her, but as the full scale of Hand corruption gets exposed, more and more defect. It isn't long until the High Nurse herself is walking up the steps of the Prime Director's palace, where the Deputy of Mercury himself gifts the sword of an American warlord his grandfather won to the commander of the palace guard, and wins him over. As the High Nurse enters the palace and the Prime Director's chamber, Sullivan and his government fleets in a secret underground passage to California. The SOMBRA reports are proven to be true, the Hand claimed they were taking care of the prime Director after her post WW7 depression, but had actually sealed her away, and Sullivan himself would constantly taunt her with the latest news of his government's actions. The High Nurse breaks down the plug sealing her off, and restores her to health in full view of the guard. It's the straw that breaks the camel's back. The hold on the Prime Director, which the population views as a living god, was the only thing that kept them in power. The only thing that kept Dominlings from openly revolting against their corruption. Now with the truth exposed, and their hostage freed, open season has effectively been declared on the Hand and its few loyal supporters, who are also defecting in their millions. Only JC Jenson's drones, and a few million brainwashed orphaned children remain loyal, and prepare to fight for California. But the situation is dim, Australia explodes in a continuation of the 48 hour war against JC Jenson factories, New Zealand welcomes Uman troops with cheating crowds, Patagonia, New Guinea, and Baja all announce their defection. Not a single space holdings sides with the Hand after their horrific mismanagement of GW2. Hand authority over the Dominion has all but collapsed, as the continental Army begins marching to boot them out of the Americas. In the meantime, the Phoenix Council begins to exert its own authority. And will soon declare a new government for the Dominion, with Olivia at its head.
