[Start plaintext] Hey guys! This will be a simple guide to willomancy, AKA the creation of alters/headmates Willomancy works easiest for pre-existing systems with low split tolerance, but can work for higher split tolerance systems and even singlets! "But pencil. Why would I want to do willomancy???" There's a lot of reasons you might consider creating a headmate. If you're already a system, it could be that you need someone to fill a specific role, or you want an of a specific character for one reason or another. If you're a singlet, it could be that you're lonely, need someone to help you with specific parts of your life, or maybe you just want to. Willomates can be more stable than other headmates- they can be better at co-fronting, and have better internal communication with other headmates. Disclaimer!! Willomancy is significantly easier for people who are already systems, and who are good at visualizing things. It's also important to note that your new headmate might not turn exactly like you planned, but that's ok! Let them be themselves! I am also not a professional, and these are just the methods I use. I can't promise they'll work for everyone. Additionally, willomancy takes time. Don't expect your new headmate to be super distinct immediately. There are two main methods I'll cover in this guide. For distinctions sake, I'll call the first one the personality method, and the second the puppet method. Method 1: The personality method This method involves specific details about your new headmate. You can pick and choose which ones you use, but the most important ones are the ones detailing (you can guess) their personality! Name and pronouns, obviously, but I find that music taste and aesthetic can be important as well. Think of the role you'd like them to fill. This method can be difficult if you're not already a system. Once you've got that laid out, start by trying to act the way you'd expect them to. Listening to music you think they'd like can help Once you feel like there's a distinction between your normal self and how you're acting now, start asking questions. Answer yourself with how you think the would. If all goes well, it will feel automatic eventually, to the point where it doesn't feel like "you" are answering yourself. Congratulations, you've successfully created a headmate. Method 2: The puppet method The puppet method involves making up scenarios. This method works better for people starting as singlets than the other one does, though both are possible. This method works best if you're able to visualize them, possibly in headspace if you have one. Start with coming up with a role you want them to fill - it doesn't have to be an "official" commonly recognised role, it can be as simple as them fronting during mealtimes or before bed. Think of scenarios relating to that role, and to them how you think they should. Visualize them if possible. Alternatively, if the role is just reminding you to do something, imagine them telling you to do it each time. Eventually, it should get to the point where it feels automatic- acting like them in situations you want them to front in, or being reminded to do things automatically. This means you've successfully created a headmate! No matter which method you use, these things take time. Be patient, and use your experience to help learn how it works for you, because everyone is a little bit different. Thanks for reading this guide, and goodbye! Uhh also. Systemhood has ups but also downs so proceed with caution gang [End plaintext]
