- Hold down arrow to hear the whistle - Press space .................A. N C. & T. R. R. 8-26 C No. 28 ............... > The first of the 2nd batch of 4-4-0s! No.28 would live a long boring career, with nothing too crazy going on, the worst thing that happened to the ol' girl was in May 23rd, when the engine hit a set of mis-aligned points and flipped on her side. She was repaired and was brought back to service. .................A. N C. & T. R. R. 8-26 C No. 29 ............... > THIS. THIS ENGINE. On the date of July 13th, 1876. No.29 would run out of a yard without a driver and fireman and would run down the main for an hour and a half before "Atlantis" would come and chase the engine, eventually stopping 29, and brought the engine back to the yard. No damage or incidents followed. (Other than a delayed train) .................A. N C. & T. R. R. 8-26 C No. 30 ............... > Similar to No.28, this engine would have a pretty mundane life, but her boiler would explode and take both her driver & fireman with her. The chassis and tender along with a few parts were salvaged afterward, and the stack was launched into the sky and landed in the yard. .................A. N C. & T. R. R. 8-26 C No. 31 ............... > Used In doubleheaders often! Nothing bad has ever happened to 31, she has just been a good ol' reliable locomotive. Although this batch of engines was primarily focused on pulling freight, it was also used for banking & once as a rescue engine! > If you have any questions about the engine, just lmk! > "Morning Mood" - Peer Gynt
