-- Chapter 4 -- Dear Diary, you already know who it is. Me! Anyways, the end of my freshman year is around the corner. I haven’t done so bad for my first year of high school. I was able to get Daniel’s number since I last wrote here a few months ago. We’ve been talking much more now, all thanks to technology. We have a lot more in common than I initially thought. As it turns out, Daniel’s also been going to the school’s volleyball games, and I never even noticed! I should try to find him during a game next year, since this year’s season is just about over. Adrian and I have been talking over the phone too, though he also comes to my house about once or twice a week. He always knows how to make me smile. I’ll never understand how he manages to do that. My mom has been acting rather differently lately. She’s been a little more distant. She hasn’t been helping me with my work, and she’s starting to become a little harsher when it comes to my grades. Not getting the help on my assignments is fine though. I’ve been getting mostly good grades, besides a few D’s and F’s here and there. Even if I do need help, Adrian and my brother are options as well. You know, I mentioned above how I should try to find Daniel at a game next year. However, I’ve been thinking about another option recently. What if I try out for the team again? Since tryouts earlier this year, I found out that seniors get priority. Perhaps, since I’ll be a little older, I’ll have a slightly higher chance of making the team next year. It’ll require time and commitment, but I believe I’m ready for it. Well, that’s all I really have to write about for now. I’ll see if I can write over the summer, but I might be a little busy. I’m going on some vacations with my family, and I’ll probably be spending a lot of time down at the beach in my freetime. Until then Diary.
