-- Chapter 6 -- Hey Diary, I have some really interesting things to tell you this time. Sophomore year has been going great so far. For once, I have all good teachers. Usually I have one or two bad teachers every year, but this year I got none of them. Hooray! However, the interesting thing is that I think Daniel likes me. He’s been hanging out with me much more often, and we’ve been getting to learn more and more about each other. I’ve even gone to his house at least three times since the beginning of this school year. Daniel’s a really funny guy when he’s not at school with a popular reputation to keep up. He makes all of these funny jokes, and always knows how to make me feel good about myself. He’s also given me a bunch of compliments, which is really nice. Adrian’s still around too of course. He always has been, and always will be. He’s been helping me study for a few of my classes recently. History, Math, and Science this year all feel like they’re trying to suck the life out of me. Adrian’s also able to explain things in a way that makes sense, which helps a lot. He still gets quiet whenever I mention Daniel though. I didn’t really take it to mind before, but now I can’t help but wonder why. Volleyball tryouts start up again soon. I hope I make the team this year. I was a little bummed out last year when I didn’t make the team, but hopefully this year I’ll have a better shot at making it. My mom’s still harsh with me sometimes. When she’s not yelling at me, well that’s because I’m in my room, away from the rest of my family. I get to do whatever I want there. It’s like my little safe space. If only the rest of my family would come to understand that. I’ll write again soon, or whenever I can. I have a feeling things are only going to get more interesting.
