Hi! I'm Lostpaw and welcome to my LA theory! Also, I drew some fanart of Loam screaming at deathmud for ruining their clan. Please enjoy as I guide you through these claims: Frankie is the monster And monsters have powers (of some sort) (kinda. im mostly talking bout how Frankie's monster) Ok, if you look at my first picture you see cover art. The angle is directly in front of them. Since one eye is shaded, and it's smaller, Frankie is clearly not standing in front of the camera, but a little more to the left side. This creates the effect of seeing one side of them more clearly, and that side uses the same things we always do. In other words, in the entire comic, the side we see better is what we often see, to dark brown pelt to the hot pink eyes. The other side has a hot pink outline, including the eye. The rest of the side is black, resembling the "pelt of night". I belive the shaded eye represents Loam only being able to see one side of them, nice, kind and adventourous. The second picture is only here to stenghen the claim above. Just like in the first picture, the left eye is gray while the right eye is pink. This is either a picture of the monster, or the Storyteller, but for this theory, I'm assuming it's the first. The monster seems rather fluffy, and just pointing out, we don't know if the Storyteller is actually a real charecter or just something Frankie made up. Well, we are sure she exists, but not neccesarily the way Frankie says. We know she exists because of the clangen thing. We also see that (I'm just realizing this now, so I can't put in a pic) Frankie's "owners" show up, nor make it a problem for Loam, since some people actually SEE their cats. The next three are Frankie talking about something they would do "if" they were the monster. This is most likely, in my opinion, something they've always wanted to do. Or, they've done something similar before. That is not important, but remember when they said that they thought the monster sounded a bit lonely? Well, getting a companion, even forcefully, in a "hypothetical" is kind of showing lonelyness. And, on the second, they talk about them and their other monster friends and their children like they don't see eachother often. So, in any other time, they would be lonely. INTERVENTION: I would just like to say something. Imagine, there is somebody (In this case, Loam) that is imporrant but doesn't know it yet and can't, and if they were to find out chances would end? I think in a sense this is happening. Like, what if Frankie couldn't or shouldn't hunt Loam? I mean, what a better cover story if you were a monster than to act like you were hunting for yourself? When you are lying about something, some people let out little hints, kind of. Frankie could have been lonely about things, and told Loam that "At the time, it sounded like it was kind of lonely, and that it could use a friend" or something like that. Then, Loam would have solved their loneliness problem, so they most likely are not going to attack Loam anytime soon, no matter what. Moving on, the box I cirled in red in the lighter pink has no little line pointing to Loam, so it is a thought. The way I know this is the case, is when Loam tells a few cats about Frankie and one of them tells them to bring them. In the next panel, we see Loam saying how they won't without the lines. Loam didn't have that shadow over their eyes, which they usually had when they said something rude or did something (or tried) that put her clanmates in danger. So, it was most likely a thought. We all have them, so it's fine and normal. And back to this panel, in the next piece of dialoge we have is Frankie REPLYING to them! As I just showed you, that was a thought Loam had. So, it brings the question, can Frankie read minds? I think the answer is: sometimes. Loam seems annoyed, so they probably have their mind itmediatly accessable from it. Loam's usually kind of secretive, until they can't hold it, and has a streak of independence. Could Loam somehow know Frankie is the monster? Well, I'm not sure. That's for another theory. Anyway, what Frankie said was "She's great. Trust me. We're best friends now." This could not be a coincidence. Because Loam internally expressed doubt to the Storyteller's charecter, and Frankie said "Trust me," so it's most likely a response, since Loam had no negative responses to the Storyteller before it. So, maybe Frankie can read minds.
