-- Chapter 15 -- Hello Diary, it’s Nova again! I must say, a lot has happened since I last wrote in this, and it’s all been for the better. First things first, me and Adrian are officially in a relationship now! I’m really grateful for him, and I’m sure he’s grateful for me too (and not faking it, like how Daniel did). Adrian’s been helping me even more since we started dating. With the few classes I still have, he’s never afraid to help me with homework or study for tests. My brother’s been helping me too, and sometimes all three of us will study for our classes together. Also, I finally made the volleyball team this year! The coach asked me why I hadn’t tried out last year, so I just told him there was a lot of stuff going on. It was technically the truth, but I didn’t want to spare any details. I don’t really like thinking about what happened last year. But perhaps the thing that was most surprising, was that my mom’s been not as harsh anymore. She explained to me a few weeks ago that she was harsh on me because she didn’t want me to end up like her. So I asked her what happened when she was in high school. She told me about these groups of kids that would always make fun of her because she was nothing but “sunshine and rainbows,” which I guess is a way of saying you’re always happy. I don’t see what the problem is with that, and my mom doesn't either. She felt bad when she saw me last year, and how unhappy I had gotten. She wanted to do something, but she, just like Adrian, didn’t want me to feel worse. I can kinda see where she’s coming from, since I did willingly stay away from her because of how harsh she was being. Thankfully, we’ve been hanging out a lot more again too, just like how we used to. In fact, the more that I think about it, the more I start to realize that things are going back to normal. It may not all be the same, but I guess that’s something worth celebrating. The end of senior year will come before I know it, at least that’s what my mom is saying. I’m sure it will, considering how fast these last four years of high school have gone by already. I’ll write to you again soon diary. Maybe the next time I’ll write in here, I’ll be a fully graduated student.
