-- Chapter 16 -- Diary, I figured it out. I remember before my freshman year of high school, when my mom bought me this very diary, she told me that this was supposed to benefit me in some way. I believed her, but I never knew how it was supposed to benefit me. How could a diary with nothing but my own thoughts be able to benefit me? That was the question I kept thinking about until yesterday. That’s when I figured everything out. The truth is, diary, you are more beneficial than I could imagine. It was because of you that me and my mom have grown closer and closer. It was because of you I noticed all of the good things about Adrian, and all of the reasons why dating him now is a good idea. It was because of you I had a space to write down all of my thoughts when life was trying to get me down. I know you’re not a real person, but I still think I owe you an apology for not writing in you as much as you’d probably want. I promise you, I’ll write in you much more often from now on. Starting today of course. Thank you, my dear diary. Thank you for taking this high school journey with me. Thank you for keeping all of my thoughts safe. Thank you for benefiting me, even when I didn’t know how you could do so. I’ll write more soon diary. I really will. But for now, I have to get going. High school is over, and I have a graduation to attend.
@leonnite126678 (that's me!) for the story, the banner (made on Canva), and my ideas I guess @its_aves for hosting the writing contest!
