Yeah...I, like many other people, made a ChatGPT account back in (I think) 2022. And I consider that one of my major mistakes in life. At first, I thought it was pretty cool (mostly, I used it to generate silly ideas I had or to help me come up with new ideas, and (unfortunately) used it to generate short essays I didn't have enough time to write, and it also didn't help that I was severely underconfident in my writing). But as time went on, and I learned the truth about this wretched miasma of a program (even when I had my ChatGPT account, I was firmly anti-AI, and having an account made me feel like such a hypocrite). But I still kept my account because (A) I had gotten ChatGPT Plus for an assignment that heavily involved AI, and (B) my dad greatly supports GenAI "as a tool," and pressured me a lot about it whenever it was brought up. But after 4 years of having that weight off my shoulders, I finally built up enough courage to delete my account forever (But I still kept my old data + chat information so I can use it for my own, though I will try to use only the prompts I put in as they are still technically my own as I still feel guilty for adding to the AI slop pile). So moving forward, I will try my best to avoid using GenAI and make stuff that is of my own human creation. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk, and have a good day/afternoon/evening/night.
PS: As a way to spit in the eye of GenAI, I once fed AI-generated images into ChatGPT so they could copy it in its own "style." And I occasionally use my own AI-generated images as reference images for my own art (If AI is going out of its way to steal our data, I might as well steal from it, lol)
