TW of digging up a grave and murder mentions and bodies and all that good stuff. Read with caution! Grandeurphantom needed to be sure. Just once. She trotted to the burial place, just outside of camp. The weather was stormy, and thunder cracked the sky above wide open. Wind whipped around her, but she pressed on. Finally, she spotted the small stone decorated with flowers, the tell-tale sign of a grave. She padded to it, knowing this was Orcaear's. His fish rib necklace was hanging on the stone, along with a chunk of orca meat. She unsheathed her claws, taking a deep breath. Forgive me, Orcaear. The Phantom started to dig up the grave. She clawed at the damp soil, rain and tears blinding her vision. Why did Orcaear have to be murdered? She knew it was murder. Even if unintentional, it was still the murdering of another cat for no reason. She pinned her ears, trying to drown out the howling wind. Finally, she spotted a clump of gray fur and she pulled at it, unearthing Orcaear's body. It was just starting to bloat, and it gave off a foul odor. Maggots had just started to infect it, but Grandeurphantom flicked them off. "Sorry guys, I need this." She said, holding her breath. Time to examine. She slowly traced the body of Orcaear, starting at his head and making her way down, looking for any injuries. Almost instantly, there was a bite mark at the neck. She turned Orca's head to get a better view of the neck, tongue in her cheek. The bite mark was deep, obviously meant to be a fatal blow. This is what probably killed him. She continued studying the body, and stopped at the belly. Several claw marks, obviously from more than one strike. There was dried bl00d around the marks on the fur, as well as it being stained a crimson red. "To make you weaker," Grand murmured to the body, sighing softly. "To make sure you couldn't fight back the final blow." This wasn't the attack of two cats fighting and one unfortunately ending the other. This was a calculated attack. She could see it now. Orca being pinned down as the murderer rained blow on blow on his belly, before biting down on the neck. This just confirmed her suspicions. It was a murder. If one cat could kill another with such ease, who was to say they wouldn't do it again, Rea reasoned. Grandeurphantom laid the body back in the hole, and started to rebury it. Once she was done, she stepped back for a second to make sure it looked the same as before. Yep. Phantom even patted down the soil again, packing the body away into nature's pockets. "Farewell, Orcaear. May you be happy, wherever you are." The chimera said softly, before turning away, back into the storm.
