I use they/them pronouns and identify as non-binary! I’m a high school student who’s been on Scratch for about four years now. I’m an avid reader and writer, fancy myself an artist, and love doing things like martial arts and color guard! I am an aspiring veterinarian or paramedic, and adore critters, especially felines. ↳ Activity: I have barely been active for a year as I figured out freshman year, but I plan to dive back into scratch soon, so my activity for a while will be checking in every day about twice, with the least amount of activity being once every two days. This may rise or lower as I find a settling point that works for me. ↳ Longevity: I fully intend to dedicate myself to Damselfly for at least a year, as I feel any less would be a betrayal of the design, my promise of commitment, and the character herself. I haven’t managed to get a character to this point before, but I believe in my ability to do so now. Of course, it would be wonderful to go even further than this, and lead the detective through a much longer life. ↳ Roleplay Experience: I have been in TFC almost since the very beginning of my time on Scratch. It is the one roleplay I consistently go back to, although there have been others, such as the two times I attempted to run my own RP. My very first character was Flicktempest, my second was Zionwhirl, and my major third one was Pineconeplight (or Väctare). There have been a handful of other sign-up characters while I was between main ones or taking breaks from TFC, such as Piperplover, Sami, and Sekhmet. I do creatively writing and work on different stories often, such as Tosha or Neto. I have also been playing D&D with my parent and friends since I was eight years old! Often I create elaborate plots and plans for entire worlds, though I prefer to more improvise with these characters. ↳ Why Should I Get This Kit; I could not tell you why I deserve this kit anymore than the next person, but I can tell you the qualities I would try and bring. I am a rather dedicated person, once I get into something. I bring creativity and improvisation and often easy humor with a cool-head. I don’t get into drama on scratch and rarely in my own life. I like to write long winding replies to set the scene and try and support others writing. ↳ Why I Want This Kit: I could ramble on and on about, however. Just look at her! She’s a beautiful design that looks natural and not to busy. Damselfly has traits that remind me of my cats, such as her half orange face and gradient paws. When I first saw her, my mind immediately said “the stare of judgement and observation runs deep down to your soul” as well as “fluffy lil’ ear tufts” and if that doesn’t speak to the true nature of what a cat should be, I don’t know what does. ↳ Simplified Personality: (+) inquisitive, ambitious, tactful, clever (=) observant, quiet, serious, organized, flirtatious (-) manipulative, jealous, apathetic, paranoid ↳ Detailed Personality: Damselfly is a naturally curious cat, seeking out any questions and their connected answers that she can. She must have something to wrap her brain around, going as far as she dares in her conquest to unlock the world’s hidden mysteries. Everything is a challenge she intends to live up to, something to aspire to rise above. She’s witty, clever, plotting and scheming as she takes in the world with careful eyes. She envies those who aren’t like her, those that have everything she ever wanted in life. To be satisfied in their world is both something she longs for and is disgusted by. Everyone she meets is carefully ranked and subsequently filed away in her mind. She’s polite, sweet, charming. Damselfly will listen carefully to every word you say with a soft smile gracing her face, not a word out of place if she can help it. This is how she controls those around her, to make sure they fall into place properly where they should stay. Any who leave their proper niche are threats, against her, outliers that shake Damselfly to her core. Emotion where otherwise there would just be an empty pit where empathy should’ve filled, but is dulled down, harsh around the edges and unkind. ↳ Codewords: Damselfly is surrounded by a rainbow of muted colors, staring up in awe against the background of grey. She looks a little fox-like in her ears though. It’s so weird to see the trees start to lose their leaves so quickly in autumn, sometimes I just want to grab the reds of the fallen leaves and stick them back on so that they’ll stop bleeding into the next, cold but never cold enough season.
↳ SRP: As the rain beat down upon the great tree of SkyClan camp, each droplet meeting the bark with a great thump, Damselflykit fiddled with the twig between her paws, occasionally sinking her claws deep into the wood. Her whiskers twitched while her eyes searched the area her pricked up ears had singled out a lone bird. It was a tiny thing, barely a mouthful for any medium size cat. About the size of Damselflykit’s head, actually. Covered in shimmery feathers that ran down its chest. A hummingbird. Little animals that flitted with long beaks and wings that almost never stopped moving. She’d never seen one, especially not so close. But it could be closer, she could be nearer to it, maybe enough to catch it in her paws to just hold softly, so she could see it fly when she let it go. Creeping forward on limbs to lanky for her body, each paw stumbling slightly when she placed it. As she sucked in a breath, to hold until she pounced, it turned its head. Black, beady eyes looked straight towards summer night sky blue ones. And that little bird, which had stayed so still for so long that it seemed more like a statue in her vision, it moved. Shot away so fast she scrambled to keep up, to keep it in sight. But the hummingbird was gone, and Damselflykit was left, standing there, without a bird as the rain soaked through her puffy kitten coat down to her skin. Huffing a breath, the little detective moved back inside, trying not to betray her annoyance. Perhaps with Antlionkit and her mom by her side, she would get it the next time it surely would land on that branch. ↳ Trivia: ○ Needs to know everything and all and is very analytical about it. ○ Very old music vibes, I don’t how to explain this. Tons of 1920s music will be used as soon as I find out how to download it. ○ Gives you a gift but expects one in return. ○ AuDHD definitely, but in the sort of way that stares you straight in the eyes unblinkingly way and the only fidgets when idle but otherwise still for everything else way, don't think I need research because I have this? If needed, I can definitely source quite a bit, this is something I research often and witness a ton of people in my life with these. I physically can’t roleplay a non-autistic or adhd character to save my life, sorry ○ Lesbian, demigirl/nonbinary/agender somewhere along those lines. pronouns up in the air currently, rather androgynous ○ Goes through phases of caring deeply about romance and phases where it’s pointless and isn’t worth the dirt beneath her paws. There is no inbetween ○ Has “her people” that she treats as an inner circle but everyone else is ranked ○ Vain for entirety of kithood but quickly goes away during apprenticeship ○“Expressionless” ○ Strict moral code she develops as a kit but it’s barely understandable (as in people will have to learn it instead of me writing it down for anyone BUT myself) and isn’t nessacarily a good one (just because it’s a moral code doesn’t mean it’s good morals) ○ Calls herself “the Dectective”, and probably seeks out any conflicts she can find, willing to try and create some if it’ll get her an interesting mystery ○ Very violin-like feel. Can’t describe but that’s what I mean, low violin notes, not much E.
