Hyuna’s life has always been this way. She’s never been particularly popular, but people get caught up in looking at her. She’s in no clubs, has a decent amount of friends, and there is nothing too wrong. Her life could be different, though… It will be. There’s posters on the wall, saying things like, “JOIN THE ANIME CLUB” or “Join the Chess Club!” Nothing really interested her, anyway. She felt a tap on her shoulder. It was her eccentric friend, Till. “Hiya, Hyuna! Have you joined any clubs yet?” Hyuna’s gray haired friend asked. Hyuna was scared to say no, knowing her friend Till was part of the Literature club. Who wanted to join anything so boring, anyway? However, she did not feel tempted to lie. “No, not yet, why?” Till‘s face brightened. “Could you swing by the Literature club later today? Maybe pick up a cookie?” A cookie…? That grabbed Hyuna’s attention. “Uh, sure. Cookies? Who’s making them?” Hyuna asked, trying to find a new food source. “Luka. I kinda promised her I’d bring a new member today, so that’s why she made them!” … Really? “Whatever, I’ll swing by later today and check out the club. It’s not set in stone I’ll join, though…” Hyuna reluctantly agreed. Till grinned. “Great!” She celebrated briefly, “I can’t wait to meet you there. Mizi’s the president. Ah, not like you care.” Then she darted off to go back to class. Or skip. Which made Hyuna realize, why wasn’t she in class in the first place? Till’s rebellious spirit always urged her to do things like this… skip, miss assignments… it’s sort of admirable, if you think about it. Lunch sped by, with Hyuna laughing and gossiping with her friends. Then fifth period, sixth period, then the end of the day came. She headed down the hallway to room 207, which was what she remembered seeing on the poster. She walked inside. “Uh, is this the Literature club…?” She almost finished the word “club” but she immediately realized it was in fact not the literature club. It was full of those weird guys… the type of guys that call Misa their “waifu”, and they all had some manga out. Hyuna had just walked into the Anime club. What a bad coincidence. “Uh, yeah, it is! Come inside! No, come back!! I swear we’re the Litter-whatever club!” But she was already walking away. There’s no way she’d be caught near them. She looked at another poster to see the actual location of the Literature club. Ah, room 210. That was just a few yards from her. Yet, she felt… almost a sense of foreboding. Like she shouldn’t walk in here. Maybe Till would be happier in the long run if she didn’t. Her chest hurt from anxiety. What’s this feeling…? But she really wanted a chocolate chip cookie.
