It is the greatest source of so much in life that makes life worth living.” ― David Attenborough Today is Sir David Attenborough's centenary. What a marvelous, wonderful, whimsical man. I first started watching his documentaries when I was three or five, and he was among the first to spark my fascination of the natural world, his voice inviting into the curious, hidden, delicate lives of enigmatic creatures worldwide, from millennia ago to present day, to what may not be here in the grand tomorrow. I was raised on his documentaries, on his respect, his curiosity, and his great urgency for what may not be here, what may not come in the following days of this magnificent world. He revealed to me, and thousands, millions of others, the charismatic bits of the earth, and commissioned us to act on protecting these marvelous organisms from the rising human population. He was likely the first to bring me into wildlife conservation and environmentalism, and my lifelong (though twelve, nearly thirteen, pales in comparison to his century) interest in all organisms. [thank you for reading this far. keep reading, but press "a" while on digital for a surprise.] David Attenborough, this amazing man who has seen a century of the world come and pass, of new life coming up and species subsiding. Who has had more than fifty organisms named after him, with millions looking up to him.
