A: My family encouraged it, I come from a large family of band musicians. Q2: What instrument(s) do you play? A: Flute (piccolo too), alto sax, some uke, learning tenor banjo and clarinet. Q3: Craziest thing your band Director has done? A: My middle school band director threw a wooden block at a kid. Q4: Is your band class big, small, or average? A: Pretty big I guess Q5: Do you wish you could play another instrument than what you have already played? A: No. I love my instruments. I guess I would like to play piano too. Q6: What section has the least amount of students? A: Trombone, bassoon, and oboe. We have no French horns. Q7: How many years have you played your instrument? A: 5 years and counting. Q8: What was your favorite piece of music you ever played? A: Trockne Blumen themes and variations (for flute and piano). I highly recommend this solo for intermediate/skilled players. Q9: Have you ever damaged your instrument? A: Not my flute, but the cheap piccolo my school gave me broke four weeks after owning it. I would not play F or the Bb fingering with LH: thumb + index RH: index + pinky. Q10: How long do you practice your instrument? A: For a week: 5 x 40 min. In class, 1 x 30 min. private lessons, 20+ min. some weekends. Q11: What do you hate about your instrument? A: IT'S TOO QUIET Q12: Are you beginning, intermediate, or advanced in your opinion? A: Intermediate to low advanced. I have played in full Symphonic Orchestra (highest group in school) and am going into the Symphonic Band (highest band in school). Q13: What section is the most annoying? A: Freshman tubas. One almost dropped a tuba on me. It broke. Q14: Worst part about being a band kid? A: If you are better than someone, they will go out of their way to make your life worse (speaking from experience). Q15: How often do you do performances/concerts? A: This year I did 5 concerts + sport games and gigs. Q16: Have you ever messed up during a performance? A: Of course! Everybody makes mistakes. Q17: Has your band director ever called you out for making a mistake? A: Luckily no. Q18: What section always mess up on their part? A: Trumpet. Do I need to elaborate? lol Q19: Favorite scale?
