Welcome to Ancient Abyss! This was a side project I made because I wanted to mess around with some ideas and gameplay mechanics. Please read the instructions as I am lazy and didn't add any tutorials in-game. Or don't, and try and figure it out blind. CONTROLS: WASD or arrow keys to move Click to attack Space to dash/dodge/roll/whatever you call it Click on the stats menu to open it, press T to close it. Press Q to drop your weapon (idk why I added this) Press E to interact (descend through trapdoor, open chest, pick up weapon, etc.) INSTRUCTIONS: Ancient Abyss is a roguelike: each attempt, you try to get as far as possible. On each floor you will find enemies, a chest, and a trapdoor leading to the next floor. Each chest contains a varying number of weapons: some weak, some strong, of all types. Each weapon has pros and cons: some take up more stamina but do more damage, some have enchantments but do less damage, or some scale off different skills. On each floor you will find enemies. Enemies grow stronger the deeper you go. Killing them grants you XP; get enough, and you level up. Once you level up, you obtain 3 stat points, which can be invested in the following attributes: Strength: Increases raw damage on weapons, total stamina, and stamina regeneration Dexterity: Increases movement speed, dash length, and helps the damage on light weapons like daggers. Vitality: increases total health and health regeneration Arcane: increases magic damage, whether on enchanted magic weapons, or on spells from magic staves, total mana, and mana regeneration Luck: Increases the chances you will find better weapons Create your build. Do you upgrade general stats for all weapons, or specialize one? The strategy is up to you. As you go deeper, enemies grow stronger, but loot gets better. See how far you can make it. After floor 50 (the lava area) it stays the same difficulty.
