Raymond Dubois, a Neuvellonian Architect, has proposed a 335 km long canal in Minaleria in response to the current straits crisis. This canal will act as a sort of "hypothenuse" to the Mazandran strait andalleviate traffic in the Mazandran Strait. The canal will be 335 km long, 300 m wide, and 24 m deep, with two ports at each of its gates and several smaller terminals inside the canal itself. It is intended that there are two main lanes through this canal. Traversing through it will be shorter than the Mazandran Strait, and due to the fact that it counts as an "artificial body of water," Minaleria can legally toll vessels that pass through. Raymond Dubois has previously shown this proposal to the Neuvellonian government, which has shown approval for it and is willing to fund the development of the canal.
