So at Field Day, my school had this thing called the Foam Zone, which was basically a giant foam cannon blasting bubbles everywhere. The school definitely did NOT realize how wet this thing was going to be, because within minutes everyone was completely soaked. Naturally, I was the first one to run in like: “WHEEEE—” Which was a mistake. Because you couldn’t see the ground under all the bubbles… and there was CONCRETE underneath. So suddenly it turned into: “WHEEE—AHHHH.” Apparently a bunch of people had decided to just lie down under the foam like little bubble goblins, so every two seconds I was tripping over random hidden humans. Then me and my friend noticed that one member of the Friendchips (the nickname of my friend group) was NOT fully covered in bubbles yet, which was honestly unacceptable behavior. So we marched over with giant armfuls of foam and absolutely buried her. At one point I grabbed this HUGE pile of bubbles to throw dramatically with my friend, but then the wind suddenly blew the entire foam mountain right out of my hands. And for one terrifying moment, it looked like the bubbles were about to smack Miss Blevins directly in the head. BUT THEN— My friend Emma jumped up at the last second like a superhero and redirected the bubbles away from the teacher. So yeah. Field Day. Foam. Concrete. Hidden people.
