In the age of Liminus Nightshade, all missionaries were united under one banner. But now that Liminus is dead, there are three: The Cultists believe that Liminus Nightshade can still be brought back to life, and are skilled in necromancy. The Umbric Clan consider Umbra, Hyperdimensional's shadow clone of Liminus, the second coming of Liminus, and worship him as much as they did the real one. The Mortoids believe Liminus to be fully dead, and over the generations have converted his memory from him simply being their boss (and a god) to being akin to the Christian God. Each of these factions are NPC factions (you can't join them), have no territory on the map and are fierce rivals with each other.
